Time for Action

                I normally reserve Tuesday’s for VIPs, but I do not have anyone of whom I wish to write.  The United States are deep into a presidential election, including all the negative talk.  I do not believe this is not a normal election season.  In 2012 Americans had the opportunity to elect Mitt Romney as our president, but we – not I personally but Americans in general – chose to elect Barack Obama.  Our nation has since gone downhill quickly.

                We now have an opportunity to elect a President who can and will right the ship of state; however, Americans seem to be gravitating to politicians who do not have the desire or the ability to do so.  We have a self-declared socialist, a former Secretary of State who is a treasonous liar, and Republicans that rank from liberal to conservative.  As far as I am concerned, there is only one candidate who has the knowledge and ability to right our nation.

                I am far from the only one who thinks we are at turning point, a crossroads.  John W. Whitehead wrote an interesting article about our times.  “America is at a crossroads.  History may show that from this point forward, we will have left behind any semblance of constitutional government and entered into a militaristic state where all citizens are suspects and security trumps freedom.

                “Certainly, this is a time when government officials operate off their own inscrutable, self-serving playbook with little in the way of checks and balances, while American citizens are subjected to all manner of indignities and violations with little hope of defending themselves.”
