Why Do Some States Allow Voting Without Any Identification?

Robert McGreevy published an article at MSN.com with interesting information. He began his article by stating that 18 of the 19 states won by Vice President Kamala Harris do not “require voters to show photo identification to vote, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL).

McGreevy continued with other interesting numbers. Only 36 of the 50 U.S. states “require voters to provide some form of identification to cast a ballot, according to the NCSL. Of these, 12 do not require a photo ID.”

Numerous states have different provisions. New Hampshire allows voters to cast a normal ballot without identification but require but requires them to sign a “challenged voter affidavit” before casting a ballot. After the election, a form is sent to them is requires signature and return; if the form is not returned, “the voter will be investigated for voter fraud.”

Harris won Rhode Island, the only such state that allows a voter to vote without an ID, but they cast a provisional ballot. The signature is then matched with a signature on record.

Trump won Nevada and Pennsylvania, the “only states in which no ID is required to vote that Harris lost.” Trump also won Iowa, Oklahoma, Kentucky, and Utah, “states that merely request an ID to vote, though it is not required.”

Harris won 12 states – California, Oregon, New Mexico, Minnesota, Illinois, Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Hawaii, and Maryland – that “require no document to vote, according to the NCSL.”

Harris won five other states – Colorado, Washington, Delaware, Connecticut, and Virginia – that require ID but not a photo ID.” Colorado and Washington “hold all elections by mail.” Therefore, “there limited ID laws only affect in-person voters.”

These are just some of the numbers given in the McGreevy article. I do not understand states that require no identification to vote, one of the most sacred duties given to Americans. In a world where identification is required for so many other activities – medical appointments, flying, entering a federal building, obtaining credit, and many other regular and normal activities in America, why do states allow voting to take place without identification?

Does Difference in Number of Votes Prove Election Fraud in 2020?

According to Fred Lucas at The Heritage Foundation, people on both sides of the political divide are questioning the disparity in the number of votes between 2020 and 2024. A disclaimer is that all the votes are not yet counted, so the situation can still change. However, at this time, President-elect Donald Trump has nearly the same number of votes as he received in 2020 -- 73.3 million votes now compared to 74.2 million in 2020. On the other hand, Biden received 81.2 million votes in 2020, and Harris has 69 million votes – a difference of approximately 12 million votes.

Lucas wrote that some people on the Left believe that Trump must have cheated to win the 2024 election, while some people on the Right think that the discrepancy shows that the 2020 election was rigged. Lucas quoted Hans von Spakovsky, manager of the Election Law Reform Initiative at The Heritage Foundation, to show that the difference proves nothing.

“Turnout of voters can vary greatly from election to election, from race to race, and from state to state,” von Spakovsky told The Daily Signal. “In a typical national election, turnout in different states can also vary greatly. It depends entirely on the candidates, the issues, and the interest voters have in the candidates or the extent of their concern over issues like the economy. When they don’t like their choices, they don’t turn out.”

It's easier to register today and then vote than at any other time in recent history, he noted.

“There have been absolutely zero reports of anyone being kept from voting and certainly if 20 million people were somehow being kept from voting, that is not something you could keep secret,” von Spakovsky said.

With votes still being counted in several states, turnout for 2024 is on track to be about 62.25% of registered voters, with a total of 152.9 million voters, according to the Election Lab at the University of Florida. That would be down from a 66.38% turnout in 2020, when 159.7 million voters cast ballots.

Why Did the American People Stand Together and Vote for Trump?

My VIPs for this week are the American people who embraced the America First agenda and voted for former President Donald J. Trump, now President-elect Trump. The election results are already bringing prosperity back to America and stability to the world. Here is how Guy Shepherd at The Blaze described what happened, is happening, and what will happen.

The Republican Party reveals itself as a national middle-class party. A party that is friendly to earned success and those in need looking for a hand up. A party where the middle, bottom, and top are not divided and play a zero-sum game but are instead united in the pursuit and possession of the American dream.

A patriotic party. A party that loves America – warts and all. A party with America First self-confidence and swagger on a global stage. Not chauvinism, but swagger. Which just happens to be good for everyone.

Pax Americana is not a global occupier or welfare state, but a beacon of freedom and hope to the nations [of the world].

A party for men and women alike – from Elon and Tulsi to the forgotten women and men across our great nation. A party of equals who know what a woman is, know what a man is, and celebrate the complementary difference. A love, marriage, baby carriages, “worried about the cost of living and growing prosperity” party.

A party that takes care of its own and defends its sovereignty. That takes full advantage of the natural resources to underwrite American prosperity at home and global peace and stability abroad.

A party that does not withdraw from the world but leads it through good example and willingness to defend and enforce its clearly stated prerogatives. A party willing to make long-term win-win deals. A party willing to use carrots and sticks to defend and pursue its interests.

A party that is dedicated to prudently guiding, funding, and restraining a military that is without equal.

A nation that fights wars to win and not occupy. When we win, we do so decisively and our former foes become prosperous friends. Pax Americana is not a global occupier or welfare state, but a beacon of freedom and hope to the nations.

In the words of former President Ronald Reagan, it is “morning in America” once again. We are no longer burdened by what might have been, the motto of Vice President Kamala Harris. We have escaped the giant foot of socialism for now.

Should Americans Allow Amnesty to Be Given to Illegal Immigrants?

The topic of discussion for this Constitution Monday concerns amnesty. According to Candace Hathaway at The Blaze, a federal judge on Thursday hit the Biden-Harris administration hard on their plan to give amnesty to 550,000-plus illegal aliens currently living in the United States.

Earlier this year, a coalition of 16 Republican-led states, spearheaded by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and America First Legal, filed a lawsuit against the administration for its “Keeping Families Together” program. The program would have granted amnesty to illegal immigrant spouses and stepchildren of American citizens, Blaze News previously reported.

“Once again, we have stopped the Biden-Harris Administration’s radical attempts to destroy America’s borders and undermine the rule of law.”

Additionally, the program would have permitted beneficiaries to parole in place, allowing them to remain in the country while their status is adjusted.

The lawsuit, filed by the 16 state attorneys general, argued that the administration’s claim that it would apply to roughly 550,000 illegal aliens was “likely a significant underestimate,” projecting that it could be closer to 1.3 million.

The complaint contended that the process was unconstitutional because it circumvented Congress and would “irreparably harm” the states’ communities.

U.S. District Judge J. Campbell Barker, a Trump-appointed judge, sided with the states’ lawsuit, striking down the program.

In his 74-page ruling, Barker stated that the administration’s program “focuses on the wrong thing in identifying ‘significant public benefits’ – the benefits of aliens’ new legal status, rather than their presence in this country.”

“The Rule exceeds statutory authority and is not in accordance with law for this reason as well,” he concluded, adding that the “defendants’ view stretches legal interpretation past its breaking point.”

“The court declares that defendants lack statutory authority … to grant parole ‘in place’ to aliens,” Barker wrote.

America First Legal Executive Director Gene Hamilton stated, “Since day one, the Biden-Harris administration has dedicated itself to the decimation of our immigration system and the erasure of our borders.”

“Time and again, the states stood up. And today, the great state of Texas and the courageous Ken Paxton, alongside a coalition of other brave attorneys general, succeeded in stopping an illegal program that would have provided amnesty to hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens and paved the path for the largest administrative amnesty in American history,” Hamilton added.

Paxton wrote in a post on X, “Once again, we have stopped the Biden-Harris Administration’s radical attempts to destroy America’s borders and undermine the rule of law. This unlawful parole scheme would have rewarded more than 1 million illegal aliens with citizenship and incentivized millions more to break into our country. I look forward to the day when the federal government starts following the law again.”

Hathaway’s article goes on to remind her readers that Barker’s ruling could be appealed, but there was no comment from either the White House or the Department of Homeland Security gave a comment to CBS News.

When the United States granted amnesty to millions of illegal aliens in the 1980s during the Ronald Reagan administration, Americans were promised that the borders would be secured to prevent such an amnesty happening every again. As all Americans should be aware, the borders are still not secure, and millions more illegal aliens have entered the United States. There is only one way to deal with such illegal immigration and that is mass deportation. I am one of the six out of every ten Americans who support Donald Trump’s plan to deport illegal immigrants.

Is Jesus Christ a God of Miracles?

My Come Follow Me studies for this week took me to Mormon 7-9 in a lesson titled “I Speak unto You as if Ye Were Present.” The lesson was introduced by the following information.

Moroni knew what it felt like to be alone in a wicked world—especially after his father died in battle and the Nephites were destroyed. “I even remain alone,” he wrote. “I have not friends nor whither to go” (Mormon 8:3, 5). Things may have seemed hopeless, but Moroni found hope in Jesus Christ and his testimony that “the eternal purposes of the Lord shall roll on” (Mormon 8:22). And Moroni knew that a key part of those eternal purposes would be the Book of Mormon—the record he was now diligently completing, the record that would one day bring many people “to the knowledge of Christ” (Mormon 8:16; 9:36). Moroni’s faith in these promises made it possible for him to declare to the future readers of this book, “I speak unto you as if ye were present,” and “I know that ye shall have my words” (Mormon 8:35; 9:30). Now we do have his words, and the Lord’s work is rolling forth, in part because Mormon and Moroni stayed true to their mission, even when they were alone.

This reading block, like most of them, contains several principles that are worthy of further discussion, such as (1) “Believe in Jesus Christ” and “lay hold upon [His] gospel” (Mormon 7), (2) The Book of Mormon is of great worth (Mormon 7:8-10; 8:12-16; 9:31-37), (3) I can keep the commandments even when others do not (Mormon 8:1-11), and (4) The Book of Mormon was written for our day (Mormon 8:26-41; 9:1-30). However, I feel prompted to discuss this principle: Jesus Christ is a God of miracles (Mormon 9:1-25).

Mormon concluded his message with a powerful message in Mormon 7. However, Moroni added an epistle from his father in Mormon 8. Mormon compiled the Book of Mormon from numerous records written over 1,000 years. Mormon and Moroni both knew that the record was written for future generations. In Mormon 9, Moroni wrote a powerful message for people living today who do not believe in miracles.

Mormon wrote in his epistle to Moroni that the record that he was compiling on gold plates would come forth “in a day when it shall be said that miracles are done away” (Mormon 8:26). Moroni wrote the following:

1 And now, I speak also concerning those who do not believe in Christ….

10 And now, if ye have imagined up unto yourselves a god who doth vary, and in whom there is shadow of changing, then have ye imagined up unto yourselves a god who is not a God of miracles.

11 But behold, I will show unto you a God of miracles, even the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob; and it is that same God who created the heavens and the earth, and all things that in them are.

Moroni writes about miracles in the remaining verses of chapter 9. He wrote because it is important for us today to know that God still performs miracles because there are still people who believe in Jesus Christ. If there is no faith in Christ, there can be no miracles.

My family and friends were recently reminded that God does perform miracles today. My son (age 49) recently fell thirty feet – upside down – while mountain climbing in August. He had serious injuries and is still healing from them, but he had no brain damage, no spinal cord damage, and no problems with breathing. He will eventually heal completely from his injuries and is already living a normal life with a splint on his wrist.

Miracles took place as he was falling. When I asked God why He had not answered my prayers to protect my son, the Spirit answered that He was protecting him from more serious injuries. Miracles took place in the air rescue from the mountain. The rescue team was preparing for a practice rescue and had all their equipment ready to put in the helicopter when the call came into the center. Miracles took place in the actual rescue because there was no wind in an area where air rescues are usually prevented by winds. My son was in the hospital in two and a half hours rather than the usual twelve hours.

My son’s recovery has been just as miraculous. His bones and brain have taken time to heal, but he has made steady progress since he arrived home from the hospital within a week. The miracle is that there is no permanent damage. He does and will live a normal life and recently returned to work as an emergency room doctor.

I know that Jesus Christ is a God of miracles!

What Will Come From More Access to Abortion?

Families, communities, states, and nations are stronger when individuals value life from conception to natural death. Ten states had abortion on the ballots on Tuesday, voters in some of them voted to protect life while others voted to allow abortions.

Elizabeth (Troutman) Mitchell, the reporting fellow for The Daily Signal and co-host of “The Daily Signal Podcast, shared a summary of the results.

South Dakota Pro-Lifers Score Win

South Dakotans struck down an abortion amendment that would have allowed abortion right up until birth for nearly any reason that a doctor thinks is a “health” risk to the mother.

Almost 60% of South Dakota voters rejected what some opponents called a radical abortion initiative….

Nebraska Voters Decide to Protect Life

Nebraska voters said “no” to a ballot initiative that would have enshrined a right to abortion up to viability in the Nebraska Constitution.

The initiative defined fetal viability as “the point in pregnancy when, in the professional judgment of the patient’s treating health care practitioner, there is a significant likelihood of the fetus’ sustained survival outside the uterus without the application of extraordinary medical measures.” …

Arizona Voters OK Abortion Throughout Pregnancy

Arizona voted to enshrine abortion up to birth in the state Constitution.

Arizona’s amendment establishes a “fundamental right to abortion” and prohibits laws that deny, restrict, or interfere with abortions after fetal viability when the procedures are “necessary to protect the life or physical or mental health of the pregnant individual.”

The pro-abortion lobby reportedly outspent the pro-life side 26 to 1.

Montana Pro-Abortion Lobby Achieves Win

Montana voters approved a ballot question to enshrine limitless abortion in the state Constitution.

Pro-abortion advocates of the amendment outspent the pro-life side 86 to 1.

Montana currently allows late-term abortions if a woman’s life is in danger.

Missouri Approves ‘Fundamental Right’ to Abortion

Voters in Missouri approved a ballot measure to include a fundamental right to abortion in the Missouri Constitution.

Missouri’s ballot measure, titled “The Right to Reproductive Freedom Initiative,” enshrines the right to abortion in state law. The measure allows the state Legislature to pass laws regulating abortion after fetal viability, but also prohibits lawmakers from restricting abortions “needed to protect the life or physical or mental health of the pregnant person.” …

The pro-abortion side reportedly spent 103 times more than the pro-life side.

Colorado Voters Pick Limitless Abortion

Colorado voters opted to enshrine abortion up to birth in the state Constitution….

Colorado currently has no restrictions on abortion and a statute already protects it.

New York Oks Pro-Abortion Measure

New Yorkers cast their ballots to expand the state’s “Equal Rights Amendment” antidiscrimination protections by including abortion.

New York already had virtually no protection for unborn life in the womb….

Maryland Voters Solidify Pro-Abortion Stance

In Maryland, voters decided to protect the “right” to abortion up to birth in the state Constitution….

Florida to Remain a Pro-Life State

Florida’s Amendment 4 will not gin a large enough majority of voters to enshrine abortion up to birth into the state Constitution, said Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican….

A favorable vote of at least 60% was needed to make Amendment 4 part of the state Constitution….

One of the Ten Commandments condemns murder – deliberately taking the life of another person. Voters in South Dakota, Nebraska, Florida, and possibly Missouri voted to protect the lives of innocent, unborn babies. By doing so, they may have extended God’s protection to all people in the United States.

America fought a Civil War – a war of four years that took more than 600,000 American lives – over the sin of slavery. Other civilizations have been destroyed when they became too wicked. I fear the price that all Americans will be forced to pay because of abortion.

Is the American Dream Still Reachable?

The liberty principle for this Freedom Friday is that the American dream is still alive and well – at least in Indiana. Republican Rep. Jim Banks is a new Senator, winning an open Indiana Senate seat. According to Elizabeth Troutman Mitchell, Banks claims that he is a product of the American dream.

“Only in America can a kid like me, who grew up in a trailer park in Columbia City and was the first in my family to go to college, go on to become a United States senator,” Banks said in a statement shared with The Daily Signal. “As your next senator, I will fight every day to protect that American dream for the next generation.”

Banks currently represents northeastern Indiana’s 3rd Congressional District. He decided to forgo another House term to run for the Senate seat vacated by Republican Sen. Mike Braun, who is running for governor.

Banks is a supporter of former President Donald Trump. He has been outspoken on “culture war” issues, such as abortion and transgenderism.

Banks demanded on Sept. 19 that the individual responsible for the military training that portrayed pro-life Americans as terrorists be held accountable.

The Indiana lawmaker has addressed training sessions given to service members on the North Carolina military base Fort Liberty from 2017 to a few months ago that characterized pro-life organizations as “terrorist groups.”

“The training labeled several prominent and well-respected pro-life groups, that count millions of everyday Americans as members, as violent extremists,” Banks said disapprovingly in the opening statement of a hearing.

As the chairman of the Anti-Woke Caucus, he sent a letter on July 30 calling on Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra to clarify the stance of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ administration regarding irreversible gender-transition surgeries for kids.

“We need true conservative fighters in Washington who are not afraid to cut reckless spending and fight to secure our border and end the Democrats’ border crisis,” Banks’ statement says. “I got in this race to champion working Hoosier families and put Indiana first, and that’s what I plan to do on Day One in the United States Senate.”

Why Should Alaskans Vote for Trump?

This essay will not post until after Election Day, but I have hopes that Donald Trump will be our next President of the United States. There are many other reasons why I voted for Trump, but now I have another reason for supporting him. It is the Biden-Harris administration’s energy policy for Alaska.

Alaska is the “Last Frontier” and could be the last place that people expect to be critical for the survival of the United States. According to an article written by Austin Gae – research associate in the Center for Energy, Climate, and Environment at The Heritage Foundation – and published in The Daily Signal, Alaska “has 49 of the 50 critical minerals, including rare earth metals.” However, the Biden-Harris administration “has taken 66 actions over nearly four years to obstruct Alaska’s production of these minerals, along with hydrocarbons.”

In June, for example, the administration blocked a 211-mile road to the Ambler Mining District, which has deposits of copper, zinc, lead, silver, and gold. And last year, the Environmental Protection Agency blocked a proposed gold and copper mine in Bristol Bay. Copper and zinc are considered critical minerals, according to the 2023 Department of Energy’s Critical Materials List.

In addition, Alaska is home to over 3 billion barrels of crude oil and 100 trillion cubic feet of natural gas reserves. It is ranked fourth and 12th among oil- and natural gas-producing states, respectively.

Just as with critical minerals, the Biden-Harris administration has blocked oil and natural gas development. For example, the administration canceled oil and gas leases in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, or ANWR, region estimated to hold about 7.7 billion barrels of oil.

The U.S. government, which owns about 60% of the state’s land, currently views Alaska as a large national park to be left untouched, not a resource-rich state to benefit Americans. The Biden-Harris administration also repealed the 2020 Alaska Roadless Rule, effectively prohibiting timber harvesting and road construction in the Tongass National Forest.

The federal government’s limits on Alaska’s ability to use its natural resources is “as though someone in Alaska said to me, ‘You cannot have your vegetable garden in your backyard,” Heritage Foundation scholar Diana Furchtgott-Roth testified recently before the House Budget Committee.

As the only state without both a personal income tax and a state sales tax, Alaska funds its state government largely by taxes and royalties from the oil and gas industry. In 2022, the state collected about $4 billion to fund programs that included education and health care.

The Alaska Permanent Fund, which collects revenues from oil and gas, pays eligible citizens an annual dividend. Local governments also collected $449 million from oil and gas property taxes.

Because of the Biden-Harris administration’s regulations, Alaska loses revenue it could use to provide services for citizens. So the state recently sued the Biden-Harris administration to extract compensation for canceled oil and gas leases in ANWR that would have generated billions of dollars.

Good for Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy, a Republican, for standing up for Alaska and for the American citizens living in Alaska. Hopefully, Trump won the election and will release the federal government’s grip on Alaska’s natural resources. Alaskans should vote for Trump because Harris will continue to steal money out of our pockets!

Who Is Bill Maher?

My VIP for this week is Bill Maher, the liberal talk show host. On Friday’s episode of “Real Time with Bill Maher,” he waded into the latest hot-button topics of the 2024 presidential election: (1) President Joe Biden calling former President Donald Trump’s supporters “garbage,” (2) comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s joke about Puerto Rico being a floating pile of garbage, and

(3) the media’s deception about Trump’s comment about Liz Cheney being a war hawk.

According to Paul Sacca at The Blaze, Maher said the following about Trump’s statement about Cheney: “Just don’t lie to me. I don’t like Donald Trump. Don’t lie to me and tell me he wants her in front of a firing squad.” He also defended Hinchcliffe: “I’m a comic; I’m a free speech [supporter]…. But this guy’s an insult comic.” Like most people, Maher did not understand why Hinchcliffe was at the event.

Maher slammed President Biden for calling Trump supporters “garbage” and compared him to New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge who dropped an easy fly ball in the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

“I think it’s a bigger gaffe than people think,” Maher said. “It’s so funny, Joe Biden, his whole career, he was like Mr. Gaffe, and then here at the very end – he’s like Aaron Judge in Game 6. He just ____ muffed the fly ball and at the end of the thing and blew the whole [game].”

Maher declared Biden’s insult to be far worse than Hillary Clinton’s disastrous 2016 smear of Trump supporters as “deplorables.”

“Because I feel like it epitomizes everything that the Trump people hate about the Democrats. They look down at us. It’s like ‘deplorables’ times ten,” Maher noted….

“I woke up today to the headline that Trump had called for a firing squad for Liz Cheney,” Maher stated. “And this is what I really don’t like about the media – no, he didn’t. You don’t have to move me to not like Donald Trump more than I already [don’t].”

Maher continued, “He’s criticizing her for being a war hawk. I mean, she is Dick Cheney’s daughter.”

Maher read Trump’s actual quote, “She’s a radical war hawk. Let’s put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her, OK? Let’s see how she feels about it. You know, they’re all war hawks when they’re sitting in Washington in the nice buildings saying, ‘Oh gee, well, let’s send 10,000 troops right into the mouth of the enemy.’” …

Maher noted, “Just to be clear, this is exactly what hippies always said. This is exactly what peaceniks always said…. It’s very easy to sit in your building and send young men to die.”

He declared, “Just don’t lie to me. I don’t like Donald Trump. Don’t lie to me and tell me he wants her in front of a firing squad. He was saying something that, by the way, if it came out of the mouth, some of it, not the stupid part, again, sounds like what hippies used to say about not sending people to [war].”

Maher is not the only liberal calling out the media and the Kamala Harris campaign for saying that Trump was calling for Cheney to be shot. Some point out that Cheney was given a weapon to defend herself, something that is not usually done in a firing squad. Even Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) called the media’s deception “ridiculous, absurd and counterproductive.” Maher did not say anything about Kamala Harris and Liz Cheney pushing the same deception.

What Can We Expect From Either Presidential Candidate?

Election Day will be over by the time that this essay posts, but Americans may not know for days who the next President of the United States will be. Whoever wins the election will determine the border and immigration policy for the next four years.

Simon Hankinson, a senior research fellow in the Border Security and Immigration Center at The Heritage Foundation, gave his best “educated guesses as to what border and immigration policy would look like under either a Trump or Harris administration,” but he qualified his guesses by stating “but nothing is certain.” Hankinson “looked at what the candidates and parties actually said.”

The Republican Party platform of 2024, written after Trump was the party’s nominee and with his obvious input, stresses “the interests of American workers … over the claims of foreign nationals seeking the same jobs.”

In its one-page Chapter 2 (of 10), the platform says the priority should be to “secure our borders and all ports of entry and to enforce our immigration laws.” For those who break those laws, it continues, “we oppose any form of amnesty.”

Republicans believe the U.S. has been and remains “a haven of refuge” but want to limit asylum to “cases of political, ethnic, or religious persecution.” The platform warns that “refugees who cannot be carefully vetted cannot be admitted to the country.”

In a second term, Trump likely would pursue the same strategy as in his first term, albeit with improved tactics, given some hard lessons learned in the first term….

Trump is often criticized by Harris for opposing a supposedly bipartisan Senate border bill earlier this year. Most Republicans rejected the bill because it would have locked into law controversial Biden administration mass parole programs then allow up to 1.8 million inadmissible aliens to be released into the country each year while they await their immigration hearings, which could be years down the road. (A tougher Secure the Border Act of 2023 passed the House in May 2023 but was not taken up by the Senate.) Here is Trump’s probable agenda for border action, in three key points:

1. Reinstate the Migrant Protection Protocols (also known as “Remain in Mexico”) and Safe Third Country agreements….

2. Resume and ramp up enforcement of immigration laws in the interior of the country. Trump has spoke of the “largest deportation program in American history.” …

3. Prioritize “merit-based immigration,” meaning that the U.S. should select legal immigrants based on factors like youth, job skills, and education and what they can contribute to the United States rather than merely family relationships.

The Democratic Party platform states, “We must secure our border and fix a broken immigration system,” but credits President Joe Biden’s executive actions that “created innovative legal pathways that … have decreased illegal border crossings.” This is a reference, among other things, to Biden’s parole programs that allow specific countries and classes of aliens to arrive illegally at U.S. borders and airports, where they are then paroled in by Customs and Border Protection.

The party platform states Democrats want to “reform the asylum system” by making the process quicker…. It also proposes to “expand legal immigration” and supports a “pathway [to legalization] for long-term undocumented individuals.”

As for Harris, she has slowly clarified her stance on the border during her campaign. It is difficult to distinguish her positions materially from the Biden administration policies of the past four years….

Here is Harris’s probable agenda for border action, in three key points:

1. At the border – Current “lawful pathways,” including mass parole and mass release into the country, would remain the policy at and between ports of entry, presenting marginal impediments to illegal entry. Alternate methods like the Welcome Corps of bringing in additional migrants – whether they qualify as refugees or not – would likely be ramped up.

2. Limited interior enforcement – Once aliens enter and claim asylum, Harris (and current administration talking points) both say that “those who are determined not to have a legal basis to remain should be quickly removed.” But evidence from the past four years suggests that few aliens, once allowed to enter, would be deported.

3. Amnesty – Passing a law to legalize some or all illegal aliens is her clear policy goal. If that is not possible, a Harris administration would fall back on deferred or non-prosecution. Either way, most foreign nationals living here illegally would be permitted to remain. An amnesty bill could contain some procedural requirements, such as proving payment of taxes or proving no criminal record, but a lack of these would not mean automatic deportation.

No one knows for sure what either of the candidates would do if elected to be President of the United States. However, we can look at their records and make educated guesses. I expect a re-elected President Trump to do much the same as he did during his first term, while expecting a President Harris to continue most of the policies of the Biden-Harris administration.

Why Is a Vote for Kamala Harris a Vote Against America?

The topic of discussion for this Constitution Monday is the 2024 presidential election that is ending – finally. There are just three more days until Election Day 2024. Within the next week, Americans should know who they have elected to preside over the United States for the next four years.

Former President Donald Trump is having a lot of fun as he crisscrosses the nation. He took the time to work a fifteen-minute shift at McDonalds and to make a meme about taking out the trash. He is hitting the seven swing states time after time as well as campaigning in deep blue states such as New York and New Mexico.

Vice President Kamala Harris is not having fun. In fact, her campaign of “joy” disappeared weeks ago. All that she has now is anger and hate. She offers no insights into her planned policies but has a constant string of smears about Trump. Here is what the great Victor Davis Hanson had to say about the way that Harris is ending her campaign with lies and smears.

In the last two weeks, Vice President Kamala Harris has been trying to revive her stagnant campaign by smearing former President Donald Trump as being Hitlerian and a fascist. She claims Trump is planning to put his enemies in encampments.

Yet in the modern era, it was not Trump who put large numbers of U.S. residents and citizens into “relocation camps,” but liberal Democrat President Franklin D. Roosevelt who sent Japanese American citizens and residents into them.

If Harris refers to Trump’s supposed fascist policies during his prior four-year tenure, there is no such evidence.

Nonetheless, the once “joyful” Harris is ending her campaign by trafficking in lies and smears reminiscent of the Joe McCarthy era.

Recall that fascists hijack law enforcement and the military to suspend constitutional rights and punish enemies. But Trump did neither.

Instead, in 2016, a corrupt FBI went after Trump himself during the Obama administration with the bogus Steele dossier.

The FBI, which in 2016 had hired the faker Steele, in 2020, fused with social media to suppress accurate news reporting of the embarrassing Hunter Biden laptop scandal.

A number of FBI directors and intelligence officials – John Brennan, James Clapper, James Comey, Andrew McCabe – who openly sought to destroy Trump had a long history of either lying or feigning amnesia under oath.

Fascists try to warp the legal system. But Trump’s own Justice Department selected an independent special counsel to investigate the invented Russian collusion accusations against him.

In vast contrast, the Biden Justice Department coordinated with Georgia prosecutors Fani Willis and Nathan Wade, special counsel Jack Smith, Manhattan prosecutor Alvin Bragg, and New York Attorney General Letitia James to prosecute Trump, bankrupt him, and keep [him] off the campaign trail.

Fascists use their governments to destroy their enemies.

During Trump’s term, for the first time in history, the House of Representatives impeached a first-term president twice. And in another first, the Senate tried Trump as a private citizen….

Fascists seek to change existing laws to destroy opponents and illegally consolidate power.

Currently, it is only the Democrats who seek to pack the court, destroy the Electoral College, end the Senate filibuster, and create two new states and thus gain four left-wing senators.

In key states, they radically changed voting laws….

Fascists arbitrarily nullify any laws they feel do not aid their agendas. Biden-Harris destroyed immigration law in order to bring in more than 12 million illegal aliens and gain new constituencies.

They also protected sanctuary cities, as some 600 such jurisdictions illegally and with impunity nullified federal immigration laws in neo-Confederate fashion.

Fascists seek to politicize the military.

But in Trump’s case, his former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Mark Milley, brazenly violated the Uniform Code of Military Justice by libeling Trump as a fascist.

Worse still, Milley sabotaged the chain of command by ordering theater commanders to report directly to him in times of serious crises.

And in a near-treasonous fashion, Milley contacted his Chinese communist counterpart in the People’s Liberation Army to assure him that he would warn the Chinese military before carrying out any Trump order he felt existentially dangerous….

Fascists seek to control and weaponize the media. So, Facebook and Twitter both conspired with the FBI to censure news accounts favorable to Trump….

Why then the charges of Trump the fascist and Hitler reincarnation?

Simple. Harris’ personal negatives are rising, her polls inert….

Harris is now confirming to voters that she really can neither think nor speak well and has no consistent agenda that appeals to the middle class.

So, in final desperation, Harris is smearing Trump as a fascist, even though, ironically, he has been the target of fascist machinations from her own party and supporters for nearly a decade.

Half of American voters voted against Trump in 2020 and instead voted for Joe Biden even though he was already showing signs of senility. His campaign hid him in a basement with the excuse of the pandemic to keep Americans from seeing the truth about him.

Now, many of those same voters will vote for Harris who campaigns on lies and smears about Trump rather than putting forth policies of how she would make life better for Americans. If Americans elect Harris after living through the past four miserable years, and seeing the evidence of corruption and evil right in front of our eyes, America deserves what it gets.

Biden, Harris, and numerous other people from both political parties are clinging to power. They work for their own benefit rather than working for the benefit of all Americans and bring great corruption into the federal government. In the words of an ancient American prophet-king:

Now it is not common that the voice of the people desireth anything contrary to that which is right; but it is common for the lesser part of the people to desire that which is not right; therefore this shall ye observe and make it your law – to do your business by the voice of the people.

And if the time comes that the voice of the people doth choose iniquity, then is the time that the judgments of God will come upon you; yea, then is the time he will visit you with great destruction even as he has hitherto visited this land (Book of Mormon - Another Testament of Jesus Christ, Mosiah 29:26-27).
