Abuse of Power

Members of Congress are finally fed up with t Barack Obama’s routine abuse executive power.  The House of Representatives passed a bill allowing congressional lawsuits against Mr. Obama for failing to enforce federal laws.  The bill may not get past the Democrat-controlled Senate and will most likely be vetoed by Mr. Obama, but at least the House took some action!

Representative Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) sponsored the ENFORCE the Law Act and gave a rousing speech to explain why.  You can watch the action here.

“How does going from being a senator to a president rewrite the Constitution? … We are not a country where the ends justify the means no matter how good your motivations may be.”
Mr. Gowdy explained that “process matters.”  “If a president does not faithfully execute the law, Mr. Speaker, what are our remedies?”  “Just sit and wait on another election?”

I like Mr. Gowdy.  He seems to be a real Patriot who is trying to do his job in Congress and not just enrich himself.  He also sounds as though he knows the Constitution and how to defend it.  I would like to see him selected as the next Speaker of the House because I believe he would stand up to our lawless leader.
