Roadmap to Restoring Our Constitutional Republic

The topic of discussion on this Freedom Friday is a recently published book outlining how to take our country back from the progressives.  Matt Kibbe, the President and CEO of Freedom Works, recently published a book entitled “Don’tHurt People and Don’t Take Their Stuff: A Libertarian Manifesto.”  The book is “an impassioned philosophical tome” as well as a “practical roadmap” we can use to restore our Constitutional Republic.

In his book, Kibbe explains his twelve-step program “designed to wean government off the empty promises of new entitlements, excessive spending, and unchecked executive power” and to “restore liberty” through freedom principles.  The principles are “positive, innovative ideas that would improve people’s lives by letting them be free, by spending less of your hard-earned money on someone else’s favors, by letting you choose, by treating us all equally under the laws of the land.”

The program includes the following twelve steps:  (1) “Comply with the laws you pass” before passing any more laws.  (2) “Stop spending money we don’t have.”  Live within your income.  (3) “Scrap the tax code” and come up with a better way.  (4) “Put patients in charge” of their own health care.  (5) “Choice, not conscription.”  Americans are intelligent enough to control their own lives.  (6) “End insider bailouts” and treat Americans fairly.  (7) “Let parents decide” the best way to educate their children.  (8) “Respect my privacy” and preserve my civil rights.  (9) “End the Fed monopoly” and do a comprehensive audit to determine what the Fed has been doing with America’s money.
(10) Follow the advice of President George Washington and “avoid entangling alliances.”  We do not have to be involved in the business of every nation in the world.  (11) “Don’t take people’s stuff” and stop the data collections.  (12) “Defend your right to know” and protect our liberties defined in the Constitution.

“Don’t Hurt People and Don’t Take Their Stuff” sounds like a good instruction manual to help Americans retake control of our nation.  I encourage you to read many books and articles, not just this book.  Free citizens are most likely well read and well informed.
