Freedom from Terror

Most Americans learned about al Qaeda after the terrorists crashed four airliners into the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and a Pennsylvania field on September 11, 200.  Barack Obama claims that al Qaeda was destroyed, but now we now ISIS is al Qaeda in Iraq with a new name.

“US troops and allied Sunni militias  defeated al Qaeda in Iraq during the post-2006 `surge’ – but it didn’t destroy them.  The US commander in Iraq, General Ray Odierno, described the group in 2010 as down but `fundamentally the same.’  In 2011, the group rebooted.  ISIS successfully freed a number of prisoners held by the Iraqi government and, slowly but surely, began rebuilding their strength.”

ISIS “began in 2004 as al Qaedain Iraq, before rebranding as ISIS two years later.  It was an ally of – and had similarities with – Osama bin Laden’s al Qaeda:  both were radical anti-Western militant groups devoted to establishing an independent Islamic state in the region.  But ISIS – unlike al Qaeda, which disowned the group in early 2014 – has proven to be more brutal and more effective at controlling territory it has seized.”

Americans did not seem to be too concerned about ISIS until the beheadings began.  The first beheadings took place in the Middle East, and Americans found them to be gruesome.  Then Colleen Hufford was beheaded in late September by a Muslim co-worker at a food distribution center in suburban Oklahoma City.  The terrorist had been trying to convert his co-workers to Islam; when they refused to convert he beheaded Colleen and stabbed another woman.

Patricia Ward was beheaded by her son on October 28, 2014, inside her apartment but was her severed head and body were dragged outside.  Witnesses saw her son kicking her head down the road.  A short time later the son then jumped in front of a commuter train near the Farmingdale, N.Y. home.

Were these beheadings ISIS related?  Why is Barack Obama completely ignoring these bizarre happenings?  When will he realize that ISIS is growing stronger by the day?  Does Mr. Obama support the creation of an Islamic State as ISIS is attempting to do?   If not, why does he take so little action so late in stopping the terrorist group?  Why does the President of the United States continue to allow ISIS to gain strength?  He does because he can and he will until he is stopped!
