Founding of America

The topic of discussion for this Constitution Monday concerns the need to teach the rising generation – and possibly older ones – about the founding of America. It seems that everyone loves an excuse to party and have fun, and national holidays are no exception. Most Americans do something to celebrate these holidays, but many of them do not actually know what they are celebrating.

For many Americans, Independence Day - also known as the Fourth of July - is just a day to party. It is a great day to go to the beach or to watch parades, to grill hot dogs and enjoy root beer floats. This video shows how badly we need to teach the history of our nation.

If you desire to help your children to know more about the founding of America than the people in the video, I suggest that you take steps to teach them. The schools are not teaching – at least the people are not learning – this important material. You might use this video in teaching the history.
