Who Is Rick Scott and What Is His Plan?

            I chose Senator Rick Scott (R-Florida) for my VIP for this week because he created a plan to “rescue America.” He created an 11-poin plan with 128 specific ideas that should be the focus of the GOP’s agenda for when they take back the House of Representatives and the Senate.

            As a businessperson, Scott knew that he would need a specific plan to receive funding and support. He does not want the Republicans to simply focus on the problems caused by the Biden administration. He suggested that the GOP should have a plan for what they will do to correct the problems and make life better for all Americans. Scott believes that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has a similar plan and that former House Speaker Newt Gingrich may put out a plan of his own.

            When asked for his goal for this plan, Scott replied, “My goal is to create a conversation about who are Republicans? Why should you elect us? … If I expect you to vote for me, then I’m going to have to give you a reason to vote for me.” 

Scott’s plan is a great starting point for laying out a plan for Republicans if given the majority of the House and Senate. If McCarthy and/or Gingrich develop plans, they can be meshed to create the Republican Plan to Rescue America. Here are the basic eleven points in the Scott plan. You can find more details here. 

Education: “Our kids will say the pledge of allegiance, salute the Flag, learn that America is a great country, and choose the school that best fits them.”

Color Blind Equality: “Government will never again ask American citizens to disclose their race, ethnicity, or skin color on any government forms.”

Safety and Crime: “The soft-on-crime days of coddling criminal behavior will end. We will re-fund and respect the police because they, not the criminals, are the good guys.”

Immigration: “We will secure our border, finish building the wall, and name it after President Donald J. Trump.”

Growth/Economy: “We will grow America’s economy, starve Washington’s economy, and stop socialism.”

Government Reform and Debt: “We will eliminate all fede4ral programs that can be done locally, and enact term limits for federal bureaucrats and Congress.

Fair Fraud-Free Elections: “We will protect the integrity of American Democracy and stop leftwing efforts to rig elections.”

Family: “We will protect, defend, and promote the American family at all costs.”

Gender, Life, Science: “Men are men, women are women, and unborn babies are babies.

Religious Liberty: “Americans will be free to welcome God into all aspects of our lives.”

America First: “We are Americans, not globalists.”

            America has been on a slippery slope to destruction since President Joe Biden was inaugurated. Americans are slowly waking up to the fact that America was in better hands during the Trump administration. If Republicans are to convince Americans that they can repair the Biden damage, they must have a solid plan to rescue America and sell it to Americans. The Scott plan is a good start.
