Do You Believe That Truth Brings Freedom?

The liberty principle for this Freedom Friday is based on a biblical teaching that truth brings freedom. Jesus Christ taught His disciples, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32). Americans stand in great need for truth in order to maintain our freedom.

Former President Donald Trump announced today that he has been indicted on federal charges. He received the news through his attorneys and then released a statement that he has been summoned to appear next week at a federal courthouse in Miami. Part of his statement is as follows: 

I have been summoned to appear at the Federal Courthouse in Miami on Tuesday, at 3 PM. I never thought it possible that such a thing could happen to a former President of the United States, who received far more votes than any sitting President in the History of our Country, and is currently leading, by far, all Candidates, both Democrat and Republican, in Polls of the 2024 Presidential Election. I AM AN INNOCENT MAN!

On the very same day, FBI Director Christopher Wray stopped stonewalling House Republicans and showed an important document to members of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability. In early May, Chairman James Comer (R-Kentucky) sent a subpoena to Wray ordering him to produce the unclassified FD-1023 record to his committee. When Wray did not deliver the document, Comer scheduled a vote for 9:00 this morning to hold Wray in contempt of Congress. 

Comer has been adamant that Wray release the document, and Wray has been adamant that he cannot release it because it might get the informant killed. Wray showed the document to Comer and ranking member Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Maryland) on Monday, but Comer wanted the entire committee to see the form. Comer and Wray reached a compromise today, and the entire committee viewed the form in a secure skiff at FBI headquarters.

So, what is so important about this document, one may ask. It shows an alleged criminal scheme that involves President Joe Biden. According to a May 3 letter addressed to Attorney General Merrick Garland and signed by Comer and Republican Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) (who has also seen the form), it contains “valuable, verifiable information” describing “an alleged criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Biden and a foreign national relating to the exchange of money for policy decision.” If true, Biden was being bribed. Plus, it not only involves Biden but also former President Barack Obama because the President makes policies.

Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-California) apparently brokered the compromise. He insisted that “every Republican and every Democrat on the committee” must see the document. It is not known if Comer supported McCarthy’s decision, but he did budge and made the following statement:

After weeks of refusing to even admit the FD-1023 record exists, the FBI has caved and is now allowing all members of the Oversight and Accountability Committee to review this unclassified record that memorializes a confidential human source’s conversations with a foreign national who claimed to have bribed then-Vice President Joe Biden.

Allowing all Oversight Committee members to review this record is an important step toward conducting oversight of the FBI and holding it accountable to the American people.

What is the truth? Did Donald Trump commit espionage, or is he the victim of continuing persecution by the Deep State? On the other hand, do we have a compromised POTUS in Joe Biden? We may never know because the Department of Justice and the FBI are protecting Biden even while attacking Trump. America has become a banana republic because we have a two-tier justice system, and political leaders use the FBI to go after their opponents.

In Trump’s case, the Deep State went after him before he was ever elected as President. The two-year investigation that cost Americans more than $30 million became known as the Russia hoax, and the Mueller report showed that there was nothing with which to charge Trump. The Durham investigation lasted longer but cost far less determined that the FBI acted wrongly in investigating Trump.

A rogue district attorney in New York charged Trump two months ago on a flimsy excuse. Another one in Georgia is threatening to indict Trump. However, this federal indictment has seven charges, some of which are very serious. The Deep State – or the secret combination as I call it – is doing all that they can to stop Trump. Why? I am positive that it is not his rudeness or his affairs. I believe that it is because they are afraid of what Trump will do to them if he becomes President again. After all, he “knows where all the bodies are buried,” and he is not as naïve as he was his first term.

Is Trump innocent as he claims? If so, he is in great danger. If the Deep State cannot stop him in the courts, I have little doubt that they will kill him.

President John F. Kennedy went up against the Deep State and was killed. When his brother Robert ran for President, he was also killed. RFK worked closely with JFK because he was the Attorney General for President Kennedy, so they were both aware of the problems. President Ronald Reagan had an attempted assassination attempt. I have seen this show previously, and I do not like the ending. May God bless America, and may the truth make us free!
