The liberty principle for this Freedom Friday concerns the obvious need for openness and honesty in presidential candidates. In order to be informed voters, candidates must be open to sharing their ideas and plans for the nation. However, Democrat candidates are not open and honest with the voters.
In
the 2020 presidential election, Joe Biden hid in his basement for the entire
campaign, and people were uninformed enough to vote for him. For the past four
years, we have been stuck with a President of the United States (POTUS) who was
honored and celebrated as such, but who did not have any idea what was going on.
Other people – who are they? – were running the country. Then there was the out-of-the-ordinary
debate between Biden and Donald Trump, and the entire world could see that
Biden was not capable of taking care of himself, let alone lead America.
Other
Democrats forced Biden out of the race and installed Kamala Harris as the new
Democrat presidential candidate. She is following the same playbook that Biden
used in 2020 by avoiding questions from reporters and interviews. Instead of
telling Americans what her own policies would be, she is stealing policies put
out by Trump – “No tax on tips.”
Then
there is Harris’s vice-presidential choice, Tim Walz. He is more Far Left than
she is, and she was described as the most liberal Senator while in the Senate,
further left than Bernie Sanders. If this decision is indicative of her
decision-making abilities, America is in deep trouble if she becomes POTUS.
Tony
Kinnett, an investigative columnist for The Daily Signal and a radio host at
WIBC in Indianapolis, interviewed Victor Davis Hanson, a senior fellow at the
Hoover Institution and brilliant military U.S. historian. Kinnett described Hanson
as a “mastermind, and that’s one step up above just well-read literate genius.”
His reasoning for such a description is that “a mastermind actually sees the
causes and the effects of what’s going on.”
Kinnett and Hanson discussed “this political maelstrom, this hurricane of 2024” and positives and negatives of both the Harris-Walz team and the Trump-Vance team. If you desire to learn from a mastermind what is happening in the presidential campaign and what should be happening, I encourage you to listen to the conversation between Kinnett and Hanson.
