What Is TDS and Does It Have a Cure?

The coronavirus invaded our nation, and cases of COVID-19 began to double and quadruple. This is particularly true in numerous hot spots across the nation. Because the coronavirus is a new virus, no humans have immunity to it. Therefore, it can spread like wildfire among dry prairie grass. There seems to be light at the end of the tunnel as it looks as though Americans’ isolation techniques has caused the curve to start to flatten. Only time will tell if the curve is truly flatter, but there is hope.

There is another pandemic in our nation. It came suddenly and covered the entire land, but it shows no signs of letting up. The disease that I am referring to is the Trump derangement syndrome (TDS). This political pandemic is well documented, and its main victims are Democrats in Congress and the elites living in the coastal states. The main symptom of this disease is the inability to agree with any idea that comes from President Donald Trump. It does not seem to matter what position taken by President Trump because the victims of TDS will take the opposite one. This is particularly obvious when the President agrees with a position taken by his opposition the previous day, week, or month. If Trump is for it, they are against it. If he is against it, they are for it. There does not appear to be a cure for TDS because it gets worse as time passes.

The COVID-19 pandemic is sweeping across the world and causing citizens of the United States to hunker down in their homes. President Trump mentioned one day that hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine could be useful in treating COVID-19. He expressed hope that the two drugs, commonly used to treat or prevent malaria, would alleviate the suffering of infected patients. However, he admitted that the drugs may not be the answer we are seeking. Immediately, the idea was condemned by sufferers of TDS.

Reporters and headlines from numerous news organizations tried to throw cold water on the idea, but several medical studies supported it. Anyone not afflicted with TDS would recognize that President Trump is holding out hope to an anxious nation. Hope is an essential characteristic to help people struggle through difficult times. Hope causes people to keep moving when they have no strength left. Sometimes, hope for a better day is all that we have. Those people infected with TDS would rather dash our hope than to agree with President Trump. They hate Trump so much that they would rather see the country destroyed than to give him credit for saying or doing anything good. What sad, miserable lives they must have!
