Lies and Truth about Middle East

We know that Barack Obama and his administration lies to us.  In fact, they have lied so many times that I do not believe anything that they say any more.  Did anyone believe that they would tell us the truth about the terrorist attacks in the Middle East?

The Obama Administration is facing mounting opposition from within the U.S. intelligence agencies as career officers in the agency are claiming a "cover up" of information concerning terrorism.  There was warning intelligence available concerning classified reports about Iran's support for jihadists in North Africa and the Middle East as well as al Qaeda penetrating widely into Egypt and Libya for months before the attack in Benghazi.  The intelligence, however, was apparently kept from senior intelligence officials as well as the public.

The Administration first said the attacks in the Middle East were spontaneous uprisings caused by an anti-Muslim video made in the U.S.A.  Reports from a security guard said differently.  An obvious sign that the attacks were not spontaneous was the use of rocket-propelled grenades and assault rifles by the attackers in Benghazi.  Now officials in the intelligence agencies want Americans to know that the government is covering up for poor foreign policies.

One official said confidentially, "The Iranian strategy is two-fold:  upping the ante for the Obama administration's economic sanctions against Iran and perceived cyber operations against Iran's nuclear weapons program by conducting terror attacks on soft U.S. targets and cyber attacks against U.S. financial interests."  Other sources say that Iran wants to shift the world's gaze from their support of Syria.

The cover up of intelligence resulted in the deaths of four Americans.  U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens and three other officials died when well-organized and heavily-armed jihadists attacked the U.S. consulate in Benghazi on September 11, 2012.  Now news is coming out that the Ambassador recognized the danger and asked for more security forces, but his request was denied by the State Department.  An important video about the cover up can be found here.

Information about the cover up has come to the attention of two Republican members of the U.S. House of Representatives who are seeking more facts.  Reps. Darrell Issa (R., Calif.) and Jason Chaffetz (R., Utah) recently confronted Secretary of State Hilary Clinton about the cover up.  Their letter indicated that they had information about the Benghazi attack being part of a group of attacks by terrorists against Americans and American property from officials "with direct knowledge of events in Libya."

The Obama Administration sought to keep this information from the public for political reasons; they did not want the American public to know how badly the Obama foreign policy in the Middle East had failed.  It appears that the administration intentionally tried to mislead the public by sending U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice on five different Sunday television shows to claim it was a "spontaneous attack" caused by an anti-Muslim video.    The claim was later repeated by Jay Carney, White House Press Secretary.

Besides the deaths of four Americans - called "bumps in the road" by Obama - the cover up resulted in a delay in the investigation of the Benghazi consulate by the FBI and other investigators.  Any reasonable person would wonder if the delay was intentionally made to mislead the investigators!

It has become obvious to many - hopefully most - American voters that we cannot trust our President or those in his administration.  They have lied to us too many times for us to believe anything they tell us.  They have spent nearly four years shafting Americans and will continue to do if we give them more time.  Our only chance to save our American way of life is to fire them.  We must have new leaders in Washington!

In a speech given on Monday, October 8, 2012, at the Virginia Military Institute (VMI) in Lexington, Virginia, Mitt Romney showed that he will be a leader for positive change in our nation when he spoke about the attacks in Benghazi, Libya.

"The attacks against us in Libya were not an isolated incident.  They were accompanied by anti-American riots in nearly two dozen other countries, mostly in the Middle East, but also in Africa and Asia.  Our embassies have been attacked.  Our flag has been burned.  Many of our citizens have been threatened and driven from their overseas homes by vicious mobs, shouting `Death to America.'  These mobs hoisted the black banner of Islamic extremism over American embassies on the anniversary of the September 11th attacks.

"As the dust settles, as the murdered are buried, Americans are asking how this happened, how the threats we face have grown so much worse, and what this calls on America to do.  These are the right questions.  And I have come here today to offer a larger perspective on these tragic recent events - and to share with you, and all Americans, my vision for a freer, more prosperous, and more peaceful world.

"The attacks on America last month should not be seen as random acts.  They are expressions of a larger struggle that is playing out across the broader Middle East - a region that is now in the midst of the most profound upheaval in a century. And the fault lines of this struggle can be seen clearly in Benghazi itself.

"The attack on our Consulate in Benghazi on September 11, 2012, was likely the work of forces affiliated with those that attacked our homeland on September 11, 2001.  This latest assault cannot be blamed on a reprehensible video insulting Islam, despite the Administration's attempts to convince us of that for so long.  No, as the Administration has finally conceded, these attacks were the deliberate work of terrorists who use violence to impose their dark ideology on others, especially women and girls; who are fighting to control much of the Middle East today, and who seek to wage perpetual war on the West.

"We saw all of this in Benghazi last month - but we also saw something else, something hopeful.  After the attack on our Consulate, tens of thousands of Libyans, most of them young people, held a massive protest in Benghazi against the very extremists who murdered our people.  They waved signs that read, `The Ambassador was Libya's friend" and `Libya is sorry.'  They chanted `No to militias.'  They marched, unarmed, to the terrorist compound.  Then they burned it to the ground.  As one Libyan woman said, `We are not going to go from darkness to darkness.'"

Mitt Romney is the man to lead the word into greater light. He will be a positive change for better times.  Vote Mitt Romney on November 6!
