Will He or Won’t He?

Warning: Do not hold your breath because you might die – but President Joe Biden is considering executive action to secure the border. Yes, the same southern border that he opened on his first day in office. The same border that he had insisted was secure for three years – until the border crisis hit him in the face. 

In an interview, Biden said that “he is considering taking executive action to secure the southern border. When asked if he had made a final decision about what to do at the border, Biden said that his administration is still “examining whether or not I have that power.” He had the power to open the border. What makes him think that he might lack the authority to close it?

Biden thinks that he needs Congress to pass legislation to give him power to close the border. “There’s no guarantee that I have that power all by myself without legislation,” Biden said. He must not remember that Donald Trump closed the border without legislation. However, Biden is fearful that the Supreme Court will shut him down, but he does not worry about being shut down when canceling student loans illegally.

So, no one should get too excited about what Biden might do. He has not closed the board in more than three years when he had the same exact power – the same power that Trump used to secure the border.
