Did anyone notice
that Americans lost a few more freedoms this week? The U.S. Senate voted 81-18 and the U.S.
House voted 285-144 to give more power to Barack Obama. When they voted “yes” to end the partial
government shutdown, they took freedom away from you and me. The U.S. Constitution was written as it was
in order that the power and authority would be divided between three branches
of government. The Congress voted to give some of the legislative authority to the executive branch.
Did your Senators and
Representative vote to yes or no on the bill to end the shutdown? Unfortunately, all three of my
representatives in Congress voted for the bill.
In fact, Senator Lisa Murkowski was part of the team that came up with
the “compromise”!
If Republicans in the Senate
would have stood united with the Republicans in the House, they could have won
some compromises. Instead of Republicans
in the House who were standing firm and immovable, Republicans in the Senate
decided to join Democrats and “dive bomb” the conservatives in the House. We need more true conservatives in Congress! Now is the time that conservatives need to
plant their flag and stand immovable.
What will you do?
I feel sad for America; however, I feel much better after listening to Senators Ted Cruz and Mike Lee and
their reaction to the Senate deal. They described the congressional
vote as just “the end of the beginning” and pledged to continue to fight
Obamacare. I really appreciate their
positive attitudes as well as their unwillingness to be negative in their comments about
other Americans.
