Let's Make A Deal

            The government of the United States has been partially closed for 18 days because Democrats refuse to make a deal with President Donald Trump. For some reason or other that is unknown to me, Democrats think that they control the government because they retook the House of Representatives. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi claims that the Constitution puts her on the same level as the President. She obviously does not know what the Constitution says! The President of the United States is on a level all by himself, as is the Vice President. Speaker of the House is third in line to lead the nation.

            President Trump may be new to politics, but he is no dummy when it comes to dealing with people. He has tried to convince the Democrats to work with him on securing the border, but they continue to refuse to do so. Therefore, Trump took his case to the American people and told the people why the government is still partially shut down. 

Sen. Chuck Schumer … has repeatedly supported a physical barrier in the past along with many other Democrats. They changed their mind only after I was elected president. Democrats in Congress have refused to acknowledge the crisis, and they have refused to provide our brave border agents with the tools they desperately need to protect our families and our nation….

The Federal Government remains shut down for one reason and one reason only: because Democrats will not fund border security… The only solution is for Democrats to pass a spending bill that defends our borders and reopens the government… This situation could be solved in a 45 minute meeting.

            The Democrats are keeping the government shut down for political reasons. They want more illegals to come across the border because they want them to become more Democrat voters. They also do not want to give Trump a win by funding a barrier along the border.

I watched his speech, and I cheered. He did an excellent job of laying his case before the people.

            A meeting between Trump and the Democrats is scheduled for tomorrow. Will the Democrats come with the intention to make a deal, or will they continue to oppose the President? No one really knows now what they will do. However, they can no longer hide their political antics from the public because Trump called them out in public. Hopefully, a deal can be made that will fund a barrier on the border and get the government employees back to work.
