Families, communities, and
nations are stronger when they value life at all ages. Life has value whether
it is an unborn child, a sick or handicapped individual of any age, or the
elderly. Any human being who is alive has purpose and should be treated with
respect, and those who die naturally, by accident, or in defense of life and
liberty should be honored and treated with reverence. Life is a gift from God,
and no one but God has a right to say when that any person’s life is finished.
Americans were upset and angry when
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a pro-abortion bill into law this week.
The bill can only be described as radical because it legalizes abortion for any
reason right up to birth. He says that “he hopes other states follow in New
York’s footsteps and pass similar pro-abortion laws.” Members of the New York
State legislature cheered as the governor signed the bill.
A day or so later Americans were
stunned to learn that Virginia was considering a law that would allow a baby to be killed even as the mother is giving birth. We can thank God that there were
enough Republicans in the state legislature to kill the bill!
What is wrong with people today that
refuse to allow convicted murderers from receiving the death penalty and have
laws protecting animals from abuse but allow innocent unborn babies to be
killed by their mothers? This is plain evil, and this nation will pay the
penalty of God’s punishment if we allow this type of wickedness to take place.
There is no hope for individuals, states, or nations that refuse to protect
innocent lives. If we want to strengthen our families, communities, and
nations, we must be willing to defend the innocent lives that are among us.
