Who Is Bill Maher?

My VIP for this week is Bill Maher, the liberal talk show host. On Friday’s episode of “Real Time with Bill Maher,” he waded into the latest hot-button topics of the 2024 presidential election: (1) President Joe Biden calling former President Donald Trump’s supporters “garbage,” (2) comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s joke about Puerto Rico being a floating pile of garbage, and

(3) the media’s deception about Trump’s comment about Liz Cheney being a war hawk.

According to Paul Sacca at The Blaze, Maher said the following about Trump’s statement about Cheney: “Just don’t lie to me. I don’t like Donald Trump. Don’t lie to me and tell me he wants her in front of a firing squad.” He also defended Hinchcliffe: “I’m a comic; I’m a free speech [supporter]…. But this guy’s an insult comic.” Like most people, Maher did not understand why Hinchcliffe was at the event. 

Maher slammed President Biden for calling Trump supporters “garbage” and compared him to New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge who dropped an easy fly ball in the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.


“I think it’s a bigger gaffe than people think,” Maher said. “It’s so funny, Joe Biden, his whole career, he was like Mr. Gaffe, and then here at the very end – he’s like Aaron Judge in Game 6. He just ____ muffed the fly ball and at the end of the thing and blew the whole [game].”


Maher declared Biden’s insult to be far worse than Hillary Clinton’s disastrous 2016 smear of Trump supporters as “deplorables.”


“Because I feel like it epitomizes everything that the Trump people hate about the Democrats. They look down at us. It’s like ‘deplorables’ times ten,” Maher noted….


“I woke up today to the headline that Trump had called for a firing squad for Liz Cheney,” Maher stated. “And this is what I really don’t like about the media – no, he didn’t. You don’t have to move me to not like Donald Trump more than I already [don’t].”


Maher continued, “He’s criticizing her for being a war hawk. I mean, she is Dick Cheney’s daughter.”


Maher read Trump’s actual quote, “She’s a radical war hawk. Let’s put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her, OK? Let’s see how she feels about it. You know, they’re all war hawks when they’re sitting in Washington in the nice buildings saying, ‘Oh gee, well, let’s send 10,000 troops right into the mouth of the enemy.’” …

Maher noted, “Just to be clear, this is exactly what hippies always said. This is exactly what peaceniks always said…. It’s very easy to sit in your building and send young men to die.”


He declared, “Just don’t lie to me. I don’t like Donald Trump. Don’t lie to me and tell me he wants her in front of a firing squad. He was saying something that, by the way, if it came out of the mouth, some of it, not the stupid part, again, sounds like what hippies used to say about not sending people to [war].”

Maher is not the only liberal calling out the media and the Kamala Harris campaign for saying that Trump was calling for Cheney to be shot. Some point out that Cheney was given a weapon to defend herself, something that is not usually done in a firing squad. Even Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) called the media’s deception “ridiculous, absurd and counterproductive.” Maher did not say anything about Kamala Harris and Liz Cheney pushing the same deception.

Why is Bill Maher My VIP?

            I chose Bill Maher for my VIP for this week – again – because he is the only Democrat that lives in reality. This week he slammed the New York Times because they buried the news about the attempted assassination of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. If the assassination attempt had been on a liberal justice, the news would have been on the front page. Because Justice Kavanaugh is conservative, the news was printed on page 20. 

            A man traveled from California to Kavanaugh’s home in Chevy Chase, Maryland, to kill Justice Kavanaugh. He got out of a taxi in front of the justice’s home and saw two U.S. marshals. He walked down the street and turned himself into the Montgomery County Police thirty minutes later. He admitted to the police that he wanted to assassinate Justice Kavanaugh, and he had the necessary tools and equipment to conduct his desire – a handgun, two magazines, ammunition, a tactical knife, zip ties, a hammer, screwdriver, crowbar, tactical chest rig, and duct tape.

            Maher hammered the Times for putting its “coverage of the assassination attempt on a United States Supreme Court justice far down on its front page and the actual story was on page A20 of the Thursday edition of the newspaper.” He claimed the Times was burying the news story because it has a “leftist media bias.” “The New York Times buried this. If this had been a liberal Supreme Court justice that someone came to kill, it would have been on the front page.” He continued, “And that’s what’s so disappointing about a paper like the New York Times because they just wear their bias on their sleeves.” He added, “And, “If it’s not part of something that feeds our narrative, **** it, we bury it.”

            Maher was not through with his criticism of Democrats. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) also came in for criticism for using “very inflammatory words” against Supreme Court justices in the past. Schumer said in March 2020, “I want to tell you, Gorsuch, I want to tell you, Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.”

Who Is Bill Maher?

            My VIP for this week is Bill Maher, host of the “Real Time with Bill Maher.” There is not much I like about Maher – including his filthy language, but I appreciate the way that he can see things as they really – even things that go against the Democrat agenda.

Leftists have condemned men for their “toxic masculinity” for a number of years. However, Maher points out that it is masculine toxicity that is defending Ukraine. “If there’s one thing we’ve learned from the crisis in Ukraine, it’s that everyone loves, and the world still needs, grown-ass men.” 

In Maher’s words, “American women are obsessing over Zelenskyy” who has been “labeled as a ‘sex symbol’ earlier this month.” “Could it be that as much as women may want to create the perfect man there’s always going to be a little bit of toxic mixed in with our masculinity and no amount of training will turn us into your favorite ‘Twilight’ character.”

Masculinity is like coffee even when you decaffeinated, there’s still a little caffeine in there….


Now there’s certainly no denying that there has been a lot of toxicity associated with men throughout history, oceans of brutality, all of which is horrible, and some of which is why our species still exists on earth….


There are brave women fighting in Ukraine, but the images of people fleeing all seem to be women and children while every able-bodied man in Ukraine is sticking around to fight and maybe die….


It’s not always a great advantage being a man and toxic though we may be…. We do sometimes come in handy.


Turns out after 200,000 years, there’s still a lot of ‘Another tribe is coming to kill us.’ And when that happens, you want a little ____ energy….


When there’s a noise downstairs, someone has to go into the dark and most women still want a man to do it….


[Questioning the manliness of American men today, Maher continued] “it’s the result of having it drilled into us in recent years that masculinity is itself toxic and scary and unevolved….

            I saw masculinity and bravery in action one night at a restaurant with my son and his family. My back was to the door of the restaurant, so I did not see what was happening. I saw my son suddenly jump up and quickly move across the restaurant – along with several other men – to stop someone who was causing a problem. When questioned later, my son explained that his motivation was the safety of his wife and baby daughter.

            It is this same masculinity that is being seen in Ukraine. The men of Ukraine are standing between Putin and his Russian troops and their homeland. They are willing to fight to the death to protect their nation. I am grateful for Maher for his willingness to recognize that toxic masculinity is sometimes needed in our lives.

Who Is Bill Maher?

             My VIP for this week is Bill Maher. I do not normally make liberals my VIP, and I do not usually approve of anything that Maher does. However, he recently did something good when he “delivered some penetrating criticisms of Democrats and President Joe Biden” at an appearance on CNN. During the interview he told Democrats that they would be “thumped” next November unless they gain some common sense. 

CNN host Chris Cuomo asked Maher if the country will be better or worse in eight months, to which Maher responded, “Well, they’re not going better for Biden and the Democrats.”


The “Real Time with Bill Maher” host said Democrats are “going to get whopped or thumped” in the midterms….


"Democrats, I think, keep thinking they can somehow break through to the people who hate them and don't vote for them," he continued. "Anyone with a 'D' next to their name is just completely toxic."


"I mean, look at the election we just had in Virginia," he said. "I mean, the Democrats lost some of those rural counties by 80%. We don't do 80%, or we never used to, in America. A landslide was a guy who got 58% of the vote. That's what made us great."

            Maher is not the only person who thinks that Democrats are heading for trouble in the mid-term election. A recent survey by ABC News/Washington Post “reported the best midterm projection for Republicans in 40 years.”
