Who Is Tulsi Gabbard?

My VIP for this week is Tulsi Gabbard, former Democrat and Independent and now Republican. She is also President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee to be the director of national intelligence. According to Tyler O’Neil at The Daily Signal, Gabbard’s selection has sent “shockwaves through the political establishment.” O’Neil described Gabbard’s qualifications.

Tulsi Gabbard, a fearless truth-teller who found herself outside the Democratic Party because she wasn’t afraid to buck the Left’s narratives, will be taking the reins at the very intelligence community she herself has loudly condemned.

A veteran and active-duty Army reservist, Gabbard has loudly criticized the censorship-industrial complex and has taken aim at the Left’s sacred cows. A former Democrat who served in the House of Representatives from 2013 to 2021 and who ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020, Gabbard has since joined the Republican Party and backed Trump, in part due to her disgust over the way government agencies and Big Tech censored her, Trump, and conservatives.

Trump announced Wednesday that he will tap her as director of national intelligence.

“I know Tulsi will bring the fearless spirit that has defined her illustrious career to our intelligence community, championing our constitutional rights, and securing peace through strength,” the president-elect said in a statement. “Tulsi will make us all proud!”

Trump noted Gabbard’s three deployments to war zones in the Middle East and Africa, her rejection of the Democratic Party, and her role as co-chair on his transition team.

“She puts country before party and approaches every issue, domestic and foreign, based on ensuring the safety, security, and freedom of the American people,” he said of Gabbard.

Gabbard’s emphasis on freedom, and free speech in particular, stands out. She has repeatedly condemned Big Tech censorship, even encouraging then-President Donald Trump to take action against the protection from liability that social media companies enjoy under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act of 1996. She had previously spoken out after Google censored her ds ahead of a Democratic primary debate in 2020.

In her September speech endorsing Trump, she hailed the Republican as “our best hope” to “stop the censorship of free speech in America.”

She said she never imagined that she would live in an America where “we couldn’t criticize our own government for fear of them labeling us as a domestic terrorist, but this is the country that we live in.”

“The very next day after I did an interview with Laura Ingraham on Fox News and I talked about how dangerous [Vice President] Kamala Harris would be as our president and commander in chief, I was added to a secret domestic terror watchlist called ‘Quiet Skies,’” Gabbard noted at the time.

O’Neil shared more information about Tulsi Gabbard that you can find at this site. I like Tulsi Gabbard and have followed her at least since she was a Democrat Party candidate for President of the United States. She made a lot of sense then, and she still makes a lot of sense.

Who Is Tulsi Gabbard?

My VIP for this week is former U.S. Representative Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) who has since departed from the Democrat Party. In an interview with Gabbard, Blaze TV host Dave Rubin asked her if she would accept an offer from Donald Trump to be his 2024 running mate.

This is the same question that has been asked of other people, particularly women. One of those women is Representative Elise Stefanak (R-NY), the chair of the House Republican Conference.

Every person that I have observed answering the question answered in a comparable manner as Gabbard: “If that call came, I would say yes” (according to Alex Nitzberg). He wrote the following in his article in The Blaze.

She indicated that getting the U.S. “back on track” would involve having courageous government figures “who care more about the country than they do about the political elite in Washington, and actually rooting out the deep rot that exists within our bureaucracies, the administrative state, the deep state in Washington.”

Blaze TV host Steve Deace noted in a tweet that Gabbard is his “prediction for Trump’s running mate.”

Gabbard, who served in Congress as a Hawaii Democrat from early 2013 through early 2021, backed Joe Biden in 2020 when she dropped her bid for the Democratic presidential nomination. But she announced in 2022 that she was “leaving the Democratic Party.”

I believe that Gabbard would be an excellent choice. She is a woman who loves America. She is intelligent and can speak plainly. Like most politicians, she has authored a book titled “For Love of Country: Leave the Democrat Party Behind,” which will be released tomorrow. Nitzberg explained further:

ABC News reported that Gabbard, referring to independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., said in a statement, “I met with Kennedy several times, and we have become good friends.” Gabbard reportedly said in the statement, “He asked if I would be his running mate. After careful consideration, I respectfully declined.”

Kennedy picked Nicole Shanahan as his running mate.

I, for one, am disappointed with the rift between Trump and his former Vice President Mike Pence. I thought that they made an effective team throughout the four years until January 6. Now Pence refuses to even endorse Trump in 2024. For this stance, I believe that Pence is the loser.

How Many Other Democrats Do Not Recognize Their Political Party?

Ronald Reagan once quipped that he did not leave the Democrat Party; the party left him. Another well-known politician joined Reagan this week. Former Representative Tulsi Gabbard (41) from the liberal state of Hawaii announced today that she is leaving the Democrat Party.

Like Reagan before her, Gabbard gave her reason for leaving the Democrat Party as abandoning of some core principles, adopting the wokeness agenda, and trying to destroy the family. In other words, the Democrat Party went off the deep end trying to appease their Far-Left members.

In a thirty-minute announcement, Gabbard gave numerous reasons for her decision. "I can no longer remain in today’s Democratic Party that is now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue and stoke anti-white racism."

Although Democrats claim that Gabbard has been moving right for several years, she did not say that she is joining another party. She merely said that she is leaving the Democrat Party. No one has described her as a conservative, even though she is not as far left as her former party. She just said that Democrat Party had moved too far left for her tastes, and she invited like-minded Democrats to join her in leaving the party.

I wonder how many other Democrats will accept her invitation. We know that more Blacks and Hispanics have recognized that the Democrat Party does not care about them or what is important to them.
