Why Are Fake Marriages Being Exploited to Enter the US?

The liberty principle for this Freedom Friday concerns the importance for government leaders to not only follow the law but to ensure that other people also follow the law. Today, Attorney General Todd Blanche told reporters about the arrest of eleven people who have been charged with being involved in fake marriages. He said that more than 1,000 fake marriages for the purpose of gaining legal status in the United States over the last decade. Fred Lucas at The Daily Signal reported on the announcement. 

The two-count indictment alleges that some foreign nationals paid as much as $100,000 to be in the sham marriages, according to the Justice Department. The scheme was primarily for Chinese nationals.

“This scheme was not a quick, fly-by-night operation, but rather a years long, multimillion-dollar cottage industry to criminally assist people who would not, or legally could not, otherwise become citizens of the United States,” Attorney General Todd Blanche told reporters Wednesday. “The men and women who facilitated this scheme were all naturalized citizens, originally from China, and one green card holder.”

The attorney general added, “Not only are we protecting our physical borders from unlawful crossings, but we are also preventing immigration fraud schemes that are just another way to skirt the immigration laws of the United States.”

The 11 arrests occurred Wednesday morning. The indictment covers a period from at least 2016 through July 2026, with an investigation led by U.S. Attorney Jamie McDonald for the Southern District of New York.

“Today’s arrests have dismantled a central component of one of the largest marriage fraud schemes charged in United States history,” McDonald said.

However, the case covered alleged sham marriages arranged in other states as well, including Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida.

Marriages were also allegedly arranged abroad in China and the Pacific island of Vanuatu. The network included alleged facilitators who oversaw the scheme and foreign-national customers; recruiters who found willing U.S. citizens; and assistants who prepared immigration paperwork, such as green card applications, for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

The defendants were each charged with one count of conspiracy to commit marriage fraud and immigration fraud. If convicted, they could face a maximum penalty of five years in prison. They were also each charged with one count of conspiracy to encourage the unlawful residence of aliens in the United States. If convicted, this crime carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.

The indictment alleges foreign nationals paid facilitators as much as approximately $100,000 for a sham marriage and assistance in obtaining lawful permanent resident status.

Facilitators allegedly paid participating U.S. citizens up to $30,000 and paid recruiters commissions of as much as approximately $5,000 for each citizen recruited, according to the Justice Department.

In total, the defendants and their co-conspirators recruited hundreds of U.S. citizens to enter into sham marriages, the Justice Department said. [Emphasis added.]

Lucas listed the names and ages of the defendants who were arrested this morning, but I will not. They are all from New York and are aged: 72, 64, 52, 43, 48, 61, 47, 35, 26, 32, and 43.

Is Taxpayer-Funded K-12 Education Incentivizing Illegal Immigration?

It is safe to say that many of the policies of the Biden administration encouraged illegal immigration. Now a “House subcommittee will examine whether the Supreme Court’s decision that states cannot deny the children of illegal aliens access to taxpayer-funded K-12 education incentivized more aliens to come to the U.S. illegally,” according to an article written by Pedro Rodriguez and published in The Daily Signal. 

The House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on the Constitution and Limited Government will hold a hearing Wednesday on the Supreme Court’s decision in Plyler v. Doe (1982), Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, told The Daily Signal Friday. The Supreme Court allowed illegal alien children to enroll in public schools, ruling that state laws preventing their enrollment violated the equal protection clause of the 14^th Amendment.

“Decades ago, the Supreme Court’s erroneous decision in Plyler v. Doe set a misguided precedent by extending taxpayer-funded public education to those in the country illegally,” Roy told The Daily Signal. “As our schools face growing strain, it’s time for Congress and the courts to reexamine this decision and put American students and taxpayers first.”

The hearing will also explore the “policy implications” of “allowing large numbers of illegal aliens to overwhelm public schools, strain resources, teachers, and hinder class learning.”

Witnesses, who have yet to be formally announced, will help the subcommittee identify how Congress could push the Supreme Court to “rectify this judicial and policy gap.” “This serves as an opportunity to examine the federal judiciary’s recent series of questionable decisions, highlighting a history of bad precedent,” the Texas congressmen added.

The committee hopes to use the hearing as an “opportunity” for them “to build from the birthright citizenship hearing” by demonstrating that the Plyler precedent compounds the issue of illegal aliens absorbing public resources.

In recent years, Republican lawmakers have continuously championed efforts to stop incentivizing illegal immigration, which they claim includes education.

States, including Florida and Texas, have already banned illegal immigrants from receiving in-state tuition benefits in public higher education.

“I don’t think you should be admitted to college in Florida if you’re here illegally,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said in a 2025 press conference. “To give in-state tuition was just a slap in the face to taxpayers.”

It is a good thing that any part of Congress is looking at how illegal immigration is being incentivized. If all the handouts and other benefits are cut off, America will stop looking like the Promised Land to more residents of foreign nations.

Will Homan Solve the Minnesota Problem?

An insurrection has been taking place in Minneapolis for several weeks. Mobs have been interfering with the efforts of federal officers to deport the “worst of the worst” of criminal illegal aliens. Two individuals have been killed because they chose to interfere with the deportation actions of federal officers.

As my essay from last night explains, the fake media, AKA mainstream media and lamestream media, are instigating more chaos by the wall-to-wall coverage of the mob actions in Minnesota.

President Donald Trump shook up his cabinet a bit and sent border czar, Tom Homan, to meet with Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz on Tuesday. The meeting took place “one day after Walz accused federal immigration agents of carrying out an ‘assault on our state.’”

In her article published at The Daily Signal, Virginia Allen reported on the new developments in Minnesota. 

Despite his criticism of the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement operations, Walz spoke with Homan on Tuesday after Trump deployed the border czar to Minneapolis to take over the federal enforcement operation there.

“Governor Walz met with Tom Homan this morning and reiterated Minnesota’s priorities: impartial investigations into the Minneapolis shootings involving federal agents, a swift, significant reduction in the number of federal forces in Minnesota, and an end to the campaign of retribution against Minnesota,” Walz’s office said in a statement.

Walz and Homan have “agreed on the need for an ongoing dialogue and will continue working toward those goals,” Walz’s office added, noting that the governor found similar agreement with Trump during their call Monday.

“The Governor tasked the Minnesota Department of Public Safety as the primary liaison to Homan to ensure these goals are met,” the office added.

Minneapolis has become a flashpoint for the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement operations following the Immigration and Customs Enforcement-involved shooting in Minneapolis on Jan. 7 that killed 37-year-old Renee Good, and the Border Patrol-involved shooting Saturday that killed 37-year-old Alex Pretti.

Holman also met with Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey on Tuesday, and Frey said that the two had a “productive conversation.” Frey said that his “main ask” was for federal officers to leave Minneapolis as quickly as possible.

“I shared with Mr. Homan the serious negative impacts this operation has had on Minneapolis and surrounding communities, as well as the strain it has placed on our local police officers,” Frey continued.

The mayor says he “made it clear” to Homan “that Minneapolis does not and will not enforce federal immigration laws, and that we will remain focused on keeping our neighbors and streets safe. City leaders will continue to stay in conversation with Mr. Homan and his team.”

For his part, Homan also called the conversations “productive.”

“We all agree that we need to support our law enforcement officers and get criminals off the streets. While we don’t agree on everything, these meetings were a productive starting point and I look forward to more conversations with key stakeholders in the days ahead,” Homan said….

“President Turmp has been clear: he wants American cities to be safe and secure for law-abiding residents – and they will be,” Homan added. Trump says that Homan will answer directly to him.

Why Does National Sovereignty Depend on Strong Leadership?

The liberty principle for this Freedom Friday is the importance of strong leadership in obtaining and retaining strong national sovereignty. President Donald Trump campaigned on closing the national borders and deporting illegal aliens. Once he was inaugurated as President of the United States, he began signing executive orders to follow through on his campaign promises.

Even though Trump plainly told Americans what he would do as President, many people were surprised when he followed through on his promises.

When Trump and his administration began deporting criminal illegal aliens, many people were pleased. However, there are also millions of people who are displeased and who protested, and the protests turned into riots. The rioters hoped that their rioting, demonstrations, and attacks on ICE agents would persuade Trump to stop deporting illegal aliens – just as temper-tantrums-throwing toddlers hope that their unruly behavior will convince their parents to give them what they want. However, things are not working as the Leftists desired, according to Joseph MacKinnon at The Blaze. 

The president announced Sunday evening in a post on Truth Social that he was ordering ICE officers to lean into their mass deportation campaign.

“Every day, the Brave Men and Women of ICE are subjected to violence, harassment, and even threats from Radical Democrat Politicians, but nothing will stop us from executing our mission, and fulfilling our Mandate to the American People,” wrote Trump. “ICE Officers are herewith ordered, by notice of this TRUTH, to do all in their power to achieve the very important goal of delivering the single largest Mass Deportation Program in History.”

Trump indicated that success will depend upon an expansion of detention and deportation efforts in America’s largest cities, including Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York, which he noted were not only temporarily home to millions of illegal aliens but “the core of the Democrat Power Center, where they use Illegal Aliens to expand their Voter Base, cheat in Elections, and grow the Welfare State, robbing good paying Jobs and Benefits from Hardworking American Citizens.”

“The American People want our Cities, Schools, and Communities to be SAFE and FREE from Illegal Alien Crime, Conflict, and Chaos,” continued Trump. “That’s why I have directed my entire Administration to put every resource possible behind this effort, and reverse the tide of Mass Destruction Migration that has turned once Idyllic Towns into scenes of Third World Dystopia. Our Federal Government will continue to be focused on the REMIGRATION of Aliens to the places form where they came, and preventing the admission of ANYONE who undermines the domestic tranquility of the United States.”

Is Trump Keeping His Promises?

President Donald Trump is keeping his promises, and he described some of his actions at the Conservative Political Action Conference held just outside Washington, D.C. He deployed active-duty troops to guard the border and to “repel the invasion of our country.” Elizabeth Troutman Mitchell reported on Trump’s speech at CPAC. 

Trump said that on Day One, he ended “catch and release” at the border, reinstated the Remain in Mexico policy, and ended birthright citizenship.

Catch and release is a process the Biden administration used where it would catch people illegally crossing the border and release them into the United States rather than deporting them immediately. Remain in Mexico is a policy from the first Trump administration where immigrants seeking asylum in the United States apply for asylum and wait for a determination on their claim while staying in Mexico rather than coming to the United States and waiting here – a wait that can last for years….

Trump said he, too, could not stand seeing “people come in from jails, mental institutions, and the worst criminals on the street, gang members being dropped off in buses and bussed into our country.”

Deporting illegal immigrants is “liberating” to communities like Aurora, Colorado, and Springfield, Ohio, “that have been occupied by illegal alien criminals from all over the world,” the president said.

“We’re rescuing the Americans whose jobs have been stolen, whose wages have been robbed, and whose way of life has been absolutely destroyed,” he said. “And under the Trump administration, our country will not be turned into a dumping ground. We’re not going to do it.”

Foreign countries are taking their illegal immigrants back, Trump said, including countries like Venezuela and Columbia, which originally refused.

Trump celebrated designating as a terrorist organization the violent Venezuelan criminal gang Tren de Aragua, which has been infiltrating the United States.

 

What Is Happening Being Trump and New York?

The liberty principle for this Freedom Friday concerns New York, lawlessness, and lawfare and their relationship to President Donald Trump. The State of New York is in a world of hurt for several reasons, but all roads lead back to Trump. Jarrett Stepman discussed the connections in his article published at The Daily Signal. 

In the four years that Donald Trump was out of office, no state political establishment besides the Biden White House did more to persecute the former president through banana republic-style weaponization of courts.

What’s more, New York became the poster child of what happens when you abandon Trump’s border policies and turn them on their heads. New York City, a sanctuary city in a sanctuary state, was absolutely flooded with illegal aliens under President Joe Biden.

On the one hand lawlessness, on the other lawfare. Anarcho-tyranny. That’s pretty much the Democrat Party’s modus operandi.

Now the tables have turned. Trump is back in the White House and from the flurry of actions he’s taken so far, it looks like he means business in putting a kibosh on the state’s sanctuary status.

Trump loves his hometown and home state, New York City, New York. He has made it obvious that he would like them to become beautiful again. However, neither the city nor the state will be beautiful again as long as illegal immigrants are welcomed and lawfare continues. The new U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi and the Department of Justice are taking steps to take care of illegal immigration problem.

“They have a ‘tip-off’ provision that requires New York’s DMV commissioner to promptly inform any illegal alien when a federal immigration agency has requested their information,” Bondi said, according to ABC News. “It’s tipping off an illegal alien. And it’s unconstitutional, and that’s why we filed this lawsuit.”

Trump’s Justice Department is also suing some of New York’s top officials, including Democrat Gov. Kathy Hochul and Attorney General Letitia James.

It should be noted that James was one of the leaders of the movement in New York to prosecute Trump.

The Trump administration isn’t just suing New York. It is cutting off federal funds that were used to facilitate illegal immigration.

Illegal aliens who poured in from Biden’s open wound at the southern border made their way to New York City en masse.

The influx of illegal aliens transformed the Big Apple….

Illegal aliens were driving the crime surge in popular tourist areas like Midtown. Many of them have been involved in violent gangs.

The now notorious Roosevelt Hotel became a symbol of the crisis. The hotel, which allegedly received a great deal of money from the Biden administration through the Federal Emergency Management Agency [FEMA], became a cesspool of criminality.

The money wasn’t just going to this one hotel. FEMA was sending tens of millions of dollars to New York so that they could keep the flow of illegal aliens coming.

This wasn’t just a terrible sanctuary law hurting locals; it was a money pit costing taxpayers and diverting resources away from needy Americans….

Strangely enough, Trump may have found a New York ally in his pursuit of curtailing illegal immigration. New York City Mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat who found himself on the wrong side of the Biden administration for having qualms about the scale of illegal aliens coming into his city, has expressed willingness to work with Trump. [Sounds like lawfare to me.]

The Justice Department recently dropped bribery charges against Adams. Critics have said this is part of a deal to make Adams cooperative, though Adams and the White Youse have denied it.

Adams has indicated he will reopen the shuttered Immigration and Customs Enforcement office at Rikers Island and will give ICE agents more leeway to do their jobs.

Adams is correct in working with ICE to remove illegal immigrant criminals from his city. If New York State authorities continue to battle against Trump and the Justice Department, they may find themselves trying to operate without federal funding.

Why Did Trump Use Tariffs Against Canada and Mexico?

Numerous Americans – mostly on the Left – worried about the effects of President Donald Trump’s threats to levy tariffs against Canada and Mexico. Trump wanted both neighboring countries to do more to shut down the flow of fentanyl from their countries into the United States, and they were not responding as he thought they should. So, he threatened to levy 25% tariffs on each neighboring country. George Caldwell wrote about the “novel legal theory pursued by Trump. 

[Trump] declared an emergency then used his emergency authority to threaten to impose tariffs to get our neighbors to comply with his border enforcement and economic policies.

Trump bypassed the typical avenues of tariff policy and instead used the 1977 International Emergency Economic Powers Act to declare the emergency and justify his tariff threats.

The act has been used by various presidents since the 1970s to respond to threats such as the Iran Hostage Crisis, the international drug trade, and the rise of Chinese-owned social media app TikTok.

But presidents have only used it to freeze transactions or seize properties – never to implement broad tariffs….

After a call with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Monday where she pledged to immediately order 10,000 Mexican troops to the border to prevent the flow of fentanyl into the United States, Trump agreed to put tariffs on hold for a month.

Just hours later, Trump put a similar one-month hold on tariffs when Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau pledged 10,000 troops of his own to guard the northern border.

Although Trump’s methods for addressing the fentanyl crisis were unprecedented, they seem to have been effective.

Canada and Mexico should have stopped the immigrants moving through their countries to the United States, and they should have stopped the fentanyl. The fact is that neither of them cared about what was happening in the United States. The threat to levy tariffs against them made the situation personal to each country, so they began to care. In other words, Trump used the threat of tariffs to get their attention and cause them to act as they should have been acting previously.

What Is the Big Lie That Biden and the Media Told Americans?

Four years ago, when former President Donald Trump left the office of President of the United States, the border of the United States was the most secure in history, and illegal immigration numbers were the lowest in decades. Then Joe Biden was inaugurated as POTUS and decided to conduct an experiment.

Biden’s thesis question was: “What happens if you open the U.S. border to nearly all who seek entry? Simon Hankinson posted an article discussing this thesis question and the experiment at The Daily Signal. 

Hankinson explained the experiment: Biden “released millions of illegal aliens at the border, paroled over a million more using programs Congress never authorized, and allowed at least 2 million more to evade the Border Patrol.” The result was “the fastest illegal influx in U.S. history.”

Biden did not conduct the experiment by himself. He had the assistance of the legacy media that “did its best to hide all this, habitually ‘gaslighting’ their audience – telling many smaller lies in the hopes that eventually people will believe one big lie.” What was that lie?

According to Hankinson, the lie is that “open borders bring unmitigated good.” The media “told many little lies” to get Americans to swallow the big lie. Hankinson discussed the following lies told by the American media.

1. They Pretended Legal and Illegal Immigration Are the Same.

They aren’t. Congress authorized around 850,000 legal immigrants a year, based on family relationships and labor needs. The millions Biden has paroled, released, or given “temporary” protection to under dubious programs are outside what Congress intended. And unless Congress changes it, the law should be upheld.

2. They Said Illegal Aliens Commit Fewer Crimes Than Americans.

The methodology of studies claiming this is suspect, but we know some illegal aliens do commit additional crimes, every one of which is preventable if laws are enforced. One report estimates that “crime by illegal aliens … cost the country some $166.5 billion.” But the cost in victims assaulted or murdered, and a declining sense of public safety, is incalculable.

3. They Told You That All Immigrants Boost the Economy.                                                 Which ones? Those under 30 with doctorates in rocket science do. But those without a high school degree, skills, or English don’t. Almost 60% of families headed by an illegal immigrant are on a federal welfare program. Illegal aliens are less educated than U.S. citizens. Over their lifetimes, most of those let in under Biden’s border boom will be a fiscal burden to the country, not a benefit.

4. They Told You Illegal Immigrants Cost Nothing.                                                       According to one congressional estimate, illegal immigrants cost over $150 billion a year. To take but one example, the Biden administration wrote a rule forcing Americans to pay for health insurance for people here illegally. “Congress never intended that illegal aliens should receive Obamacare benefits,” said Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach, after a federal court overturned Biden’s rule this week.

5. They Told You It Was Inevitable.                                                                                      While the Biden administration undid every effective policy of previous eras, it asked you to believe that mass illegal migration wasn’t its fault. But it was not earthquakes, wars, or feckless governments that attracted the world’s economic migrants to our borders. This week, even The New York Times admitted: “The Biden administration’s policy appears to have been the biggest factor.”

Americas with wide-open eyes and common sense have been saying the same thing for many years. However, the legacy media is just admitting it now that Trump is preparing to return to the Oval Office. Overwhelmingly, Americans voted for Trump to fix the terrible mistake made by Biden. According to Hankinson, “The recipe is clear, and with Tom Homan as border czar, the cook is in the kitchen.”

1. Reinstate the Migrant Protection Protocols.                                                                      Also known as “Remain in Mexico,” this policy discourages fraudulent asylum claims by keeping applicants outside the U.S. until their claims are decided. We also need to conclude Asylum Cooperative Agreements with every possible country, to deal with refugee claimants closest to their homes.

2. Turn Off the Cash Spigot.                                                                                                   Mass movement of people from the Third World to the First is facilitated by the U.N. and globalist elites – elected and unelected. Billions of taxpayer dollars have been spent to bring inadmissible aliens to and into the U.S. We can reverse the polarity of this flow by defunding nongovernmental organizations that facilitate the process and by funding law enforcement.

3. Seal the Border.                                                                                                            Authorize Border Patrol to remove or detain illegal entrants, not process and release them. Reactivate lights, sensors, and other measures Biden’s Department of Homeland Security sidelined. Close gaps in the border wall. Barriers don’t stop everyone, but they channel illegal crossing to ports of entry. And, given that both sides of the wall are generally in the United States, we can prosecute anyone cutting or climbing it.

4. Enforce Laws in the US Interior.                                                                                          The Biden administration hamstrung Immigration and Customs Enforcement with prohibitions, arbitrary limits, and paperwork. Biden’s dereliction of duty has created a huge backlog in enforcement, including deportations, that needs a major effort to reduce.

5. Get States on Board.                                                                                                           States and cities need to hand over illegal aliens in their custody to federal authorities when asked. They need to stop giving out jobs, driver’s licenses, in-state tuition, welfare, and other benefits to people here illegally.

The Biden administration broke the secure border. Even with all the lies of the administration and their friends in the legacy media, Americans saw the results and voted Democrats out of power. Americans want the rule of law to be restored. They want the value of American citizenship to be given only to Americans, and they want a government that puts Americans first and welcomes only legal immigrants.

Will Trump Make Good on His Threat of Mass Deportations?

The topic of discussion for this Constitution Monday concerns deportation of immigrants who entered the United States illegally. President-elect Donald Trump made serious campaign promises about mass deportations of illegal immigrants. Both Trump and his “border czar” Tom Homan claim that they will start with violent criminals, but they have no promises about stopping them.

Stu Burguiere of “Stu Does America” discussed Trump’s promises about mass deportations. According to an article by the Blaze TV Staff, Burguiere “believes he’ll make good on these promises – specifically regarding mass deportations.” 

“I think they’ll go pretty big,” Burguiere says. “He was re-elected largely, partially, based on his border stance and how poorly the border went under Joe Biden. And so he’s going to be, I think pretty, aggressive on this.”

And Tom Homan is only confirming Stu’s belief.

The incoming border czar told residents of Chicago this week that mass deportations would start in the Windy City, whose mayor, Brandon Johnson, has said he plans to protect illegal immigrants from federal agents.

“Chicago’s in trouble because your mayor sucks, and your governor sucks,” Homan said, not mincing words. “If he doesn’t want to help,” he continued, singling out Johnson, “get the hell out of the way.”

“Now, the way the immigration law is set up, and this is a little confusing and at times makes things difficult, cities cannot get in the way. Brandon Johnson is a moron, and he cannot get in the way, not legally at least. What he can do is just not help,” Burguiere explains.

“If you happen to arrest someone for, let’s say theft, you could say, ‘Hey, by the way, not only do we have you on theft, but we also have you on this border violation. We’re going to send you to the authorities for that.’ They could easily participate in that type of situation, and that’s really what the Trump administration is asking for,” he continues.

“Instead, they’re just getting opposition from all over the place, even though places like New York want mass deportations to occur. New York voters want the state to support Trump deportations,” he adds, noting that a Siena College poll shows that 54% of respondents say the state should support any Trump administration efforts to deport immigrants living there illegally.

According to the poll, only 35% of respondents oppose the plan.

“I will remind you, that’s not a national poll. That’s a poll of the state of New York that voted for Kamala Harris by, I think, 12 points. So that is a remarkable thing,” Burguiere says, adding, “This is what the people want.”

Democrat mayors of several blue cities are threatening to oppose Trump’s plan to deport illegal immigrants. However, Democrat Eric Adams, mayor of New York City, met with Border Czar Homan and discussed how they could work together to clear the violent criminals out of the Big Apple. Other mayors, not yet named, have contacted Homan about their own discussions about illegal immigrants.

Does Birthright Citizenship Apply to Illegal Immigrants?

The liberal principle for this Freedom Friday concerns the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. Long-time readers of my blog might remember that I have been a proponent of fighting the idea that pregnant women can come into the United States to have their child and the child automatically becomes a citizen of the United States.

President-elect Donald Trump has gone into the “lion’s den” of the mainstream media numerous times. His most recent adventure took place last Sunday when he sat down with Kristen Welker on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” One of the main picking points for Welker was Trump’s plan to end birthright citizenship. The Blaze TV Staff provided the following clarification of the matter. 

“You promised to end birthright citizenship on day one. Is that still your plan?” Welker asked, to which Trump promptly responded, “Yeah, absolutely.”

“The 14^th Amendment though says that ‘All persons born in the United States are citizens.’ Can you get around the 14^th Amendment with an executive3 action?” Welker asked again.

“We have to end it. We’re the only country that has it,” Trump said. “You know, if somebody sets a foot, just a foot. One foot. You don’t need two, on our land, congratulations, you are now a citizen of the United States of America. Yes, we’re going to end that because it’s ridiculous.”

Welker continued asking if Trump planned to do so through executive action, which he first offered that they would need to “go back to the people.” Finally, he replied again with “if we can.”

Glenn Beck of “The Glenn Beck Program” can’t help but point out the flaw in Welker’s use of the 14^th Amendment. “It was written for slavery. It was written because all citizens could vote.”

“So the Southerners, the Democrats, said, ‘Well, they’re not citizens, they’re from Africa, so they can’t vote,’” he continues. “If you were born here, even if you were born a slave, that’s what that was about. That was not illegal immigration,” Glenn explains.

“We are the only one that has it. And the only reason we do have it is because of slavery. It was a way to make sure the Democrats didn’t just cut blacks out of the vote again. That’s what’s so crazy,” he adds.

Not only does Welker not seem to understand the history behind the 14^th Amendment, Stu Burguiere points out that she doesn’t understand what the amendment itself says.

“’All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States, and of the state wherein they reside,’” Burguiere reads from the 14^th Amendment. “That phrase, ‘and subject to the jurisdiction thereof,’ means that illegal immigrants are not included.”

“To be subject of that jurisdiction means that you have to have a basis in the country. So it’s not like you just cross the border and, ‘Hey, I’m now a subject of this jurisdiction.’ You’re a visitor,” Burguiere continues.

“Or in this case, a criminal crossing the border. So you would not necessarily get those protections of that 14^th Amendment,” he adds.

It is obvious that many people – maybe millions – have taken advantage of the misapplication of the Fourteen Amendment. The idea that the Fourteenth Amendment applies to the babies of illegal immigrants has been wrong for many years. The time for fixing the false application is long gone. I hope that Donald Trump follows through on this plan and ends birthright citizenship for illegal immigrants or people who overstay their legal entry into America.

What Percentage of Illegal Aliens in the U.S. Will Eventually Be Deported?

President-elect Donald Trump promised to hold the biggest deportation of illegal immigrants in history, and his “border czar” Tom Homan is already planning how to do it. According to S.A. McCarthy at The Daily Signal, Homan’s job may have been made a bit easier by some illegal immigrants “self-deporting.” 

According to both CBS News and The Guardian, thousands of Haitian immigrants in the city of Springfield, Ohio, are rushing to Chicago, New York City, and other “sanctuary” locations before Trump is sworn into office and initiates his pledged mass deportation program.

Springfield, a city of less than 60,000, has been crippled ever since the outgoing Biden-Harris administration imported roughly 20,000 Haitian immigrants into the municipality starting in 2021. The city has seen a drastic rise in housing costs and traffic accidents and has been forced to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars annually to accommodate the immigrants, who were granted “temporary protected status” by the Biden-Harris administration.

Many Haitians in Springfield have taken Trump’s promise of mass deportations – to be enacted by his new “border czar,” former Acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director and immigration hardliner Tom Homan – seriously. Trump has vowed to terminate the temporary protected status granted to the Haitians, causing many to leave the Ohio city that Trump mentioned during a presidential debate. Popular destinations for the immigrants include Chicago, New York City, Boston, Canada, and even Brazil, where many Haitian migrants had previously been granted temporary asylum before illegally entering the U.S.

In comments to The Washington Stand, Andrew Arthur, senior fellow in Law and Policy at the Center for Immigration Studies, said, “Just the threat of ‘mass deportation’ has changed the dynamics for the millions of illegal aliens currently present in the United States, many of whom were drawn here by the Biden-Harris administration’s promises of de facto amnesty and indefinite presence in the United States.”

He continued, “Now that they are facing the real threat of enforcement and deportation, a significant number will simply decide to leave on their own, which will make border czar Tom Homan’s job of restoring credibility to the U.S. immigration system much easier.” …

While many immigrants have indicated that they would flee to sanctuary cities, where officials refuse to deport illegal immigrants, Homan has warned that even these cities will be subject to mass deportations….

Heading into the election, immigration was consistently rated one of the top two concerns for voters…. A majority of Americans also signaled at least some support for Trump’s proposed mass deportation program. But a new poll shows that nearly three-quarters of Americans want Trump to make mass deportations a “priority.”

According to a CBS News/YouGov survey, 73% of American adults say that deporting illegal immigrants should be a “priority” for Trump’s administration, including 45% of Americans who say it should be a “high priority.”

Additionally, nearly 60% of respondents said that they want Trump to initiate “a national program to find and deport all immigrants who are in the U.S. illegally.” A majority (64%) also favor Trump mobilizing federal law enforcement agencies that don’t typically interact with immigration in order to assist with deportations.

Trump and Homan have both stated that they would start their deportation task by deporting those illegal immigrants who are dangerous or are criminals. However, they have also said that all people who are in the United States illegally are subject to being caught up in the drag net.

Should Americans Allow Amnesty to Be Given to Illegal Immigrants?

The topic of discussion for this Constitution Monday concerns amnesty. According to Candace Hathaway at The Blaze, a federal judge on Thursday hit the Biden-Harris administration hard on their plan to give amnesty to 550,000-plus illegal aliens currently living in the United States. 

Earlier this year, a coalition of 16 Republican-led states, spearheaded by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and America First Legal, filed a lawsuit against the administration for its “Keeping Families Together” program. The program would have granted amnesty to illegal immigrant spouses and stepchildren of American citizens, Blaze News previously reported.

“Once again, we have stopped the Biden-Harris Administration’s radical attempts to destroy America’s borders and undermine the rule of law.”

Additionally, the program would have permitted beneficiaries to parole in place, allowing them to remain in the country while their status is adjusted.

The lawsuit, filed by the 16 state attorneys general, argued that the administration’s claim that it would apply to roughly 550,000 illegal aliens was “likely a significant underestimate,” projecting that it could be closer to 1.3 million.

The complaint contended that the process was unconstitutional because it circumvented Congress and would “irreparably harm” the states’ communities.

U.S. District Judge J. Campbell Barker, a Trump-appointed judge, sided with the states’ lawsuit, striking down the program.

In his 74-page ruling, Barker stated that the administration’s program “focuses on the wrong thing in identifying ‘significant public benefits’ – the benefits of aliens’ new legal status, rather than their presence in this country.”

“The Rule exceeds statutory authority and is not in accordance with law for this reason as well,” he concluded, adding that the “defendants’ view stretches legal interpretation past its breaking point.”

“The court declares that defendants lack statutory authority … to grant parole ‘in place’ to aliens,” Barker wrote.

America First Legal Executive Director Gene Hamilton stated, “Since day one, the Biden-Harris administration has dedicated itself to the decimation of our immigration system and the erasure of our borders.”

“Time and again, the states stood up. And today, the great state of Texas and the courageous Ken Paxton, alongside a coalition of other brave attorneys general, succeeded in stopping an illegal program that would have provided amnesty to hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens and paved the path for the largest administrative amnesty in American history,” Hamilton added.

Paxton wrote in a post on X, “Once again, we have stopped the Biden-Harris Administration’s radical attempts to destroy America’s borders and undermine the rule of law. This unlawful parole scheme would have rewarded more than 1 million illegal aliens with citizenship and incentivized millions more to break into our country. I look forward to the day when the federal government starts following the law again.”

Hathaway’s article goes on to remind her readers that Barker’s ruling could be appealed, but there was no comment from either the White House or the Department of Homeland Security gave a comment to CBS News.

When the United States granted amnesty to millions of illegal aliens in the 1980s during the Ronald Reagan administration, Americans were promised that the borders would be secured to prevent such an amnesty happening every again. As all Americans should be aware, the borders are still not secure, and millions more illegal aliens have entered the United States. There is only one way to deal with such illegal immigration and that is mass deportation. I am one of the six out of every ten Americans who support Donald Trump’s plan to deport illegal immigrants.

Why Should America Come First for U.S. Congress?

The topic of discussion for this Constitution Monday concerns the concept that Americans politicians should put America first. According to Simon Hankinson in an article published in The Daily Signal, a recent poll shows that 11 percent of swing-state voters believe that the funding Ukraine is more important than securing the American borders. Congress approved a bill last week to send more money to Ukraine even though we have already spent up to $113 billion.

The United States is experiencing “an unprecedented surge in illegal immigration” – more than 11 million migrants have crossed illegally into the United States during the Biden administration. Yet, the current administration continues to spend more money on Ukraine than on securing our own border.

Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas asked for fewer Border Patrol agents, fentanyl-detecting equipment, and detention beds than he previously argued were needed. To make matters worse, he wants a $4.7 billion “Southwest Border Contingency” slush fund that experience tells us he will spend in as many more illegal aliens as possible while he still can.

At the same time of the Mayorkas’ requests, Congress was passing a “huge supplemental foreign-aid package comprising individual funding bills for Israel, Taiwan, and Ukraine, plus a fourth bill with sanctions against Iran and Russia.”

Congressional leaders continue to promise legislation to close the border, but the borders are still open. The promises are empty promises. Congress and President Biden are failing America and American citizens while they are giving away the country to foreigners.

Unlike the empty promises of Congress and Biden, Donald Trump promises to put “America First.” We can believe Trump because he put America first for four years, and we had peace and prosperity – unlike the wars and rumors of war, economic damage, and foreign policy embarrassment of the Biden administration.

The Trump administration and the Biden administration show us two types of leadership. One leader put America first, and one put everyone else first. If you can see the truthfulness in this statement, I hope that you will have the fortitude to vote for Trump.

Should Haitians Be Allowed to Immigrate into America?

The Biden administration is not content to destroy the United States by allowing illegal immigrants to invade our nation. It is also pushing President Luis Abinader of the tiny nation of Dominican Republic “to accept 3 million Haitians.”

Senator Marco Rubio (R-Florida) wrote that foreign officials tell him that their perception of the Biden administration is that “It’s better to be the United States’ enemy than its friend.” He wrote in his article published in The Daily Signal the “bad foreign policy” of the Biden administration encourages “chaos in our own region of the world.” He continued: 

Just look at what’s happening in the Dominican Republic. The Caribbean nation is facing extraordinary migratory pressure from neighboring Haiti, which has all but collapsed into anarchy. President Luis Abinader has made it clear he will protect Dominican sovereignty by enforcing deportations.

Yet the Biden administration, influenced by radical left-wing groups like Amnesty International, is pushing Abinader to accept 3 million Haitians at any moment. This is unfair to the Dominican Republic, a developing nation with limited resources that is already bearing significant burdens on Haiti’s behalf. Anyone who doubts this should consider the fact that more than a third of all births in the Dominican Republic are currently to Haitian citizens.

But encouraging illegal mass migration is also unfair to our country. The Biden administration seems unaware that many Haitians view the Dominican Republic as a steppingstone to Puerto Rico – and that a well-established smuggling ring to facilitate that journey already exists. Because our fellow Americans in Puerto Rico have their own fiscal constraints, illegal migrants who reach the U.S. territory would likely move on to the continental United States.

Like most Americans, I recognize that what is happening in Haiti is horrible and tragic. The breakdown of law and order, the displacement of more than 300,000 people, and the need of roughly 5 million for some form of aid – all of these are matters of grave concern.

Rubio showed his concern in several ways: (1) supported “the international peacekeeping mission that Kenya proposes to lead once Haiti has established a provisional government.

(2) “reintroduced legislation to preserve U.S. trade benefits for Haitian manufacturers, which could prove a lifeline to legitimate Haitian businesses in this time of crisis.” He then continued with his article.

But, like most Americans, I also recognize that no country should experience illegal mass migration – not the Dominican Republic, and not the United States. Illegal mass migration does no good for the nation people are migrating from.

When all able-bodied, law-abiding citizens leave their homeland, there is no one left to defend it from criminals and tyrants – and no one left to provide for the vulnerable who remain there. On a more fundamental level, though, I cannot support illegal mass migration because the job of elected officials is to protect their citizens first, not anyone else’s.

This is why I have asked the State Department to prioritize U.S. citizens trapped in Haiti, as well as their adopted Haitian children. Moreover, it’s why we cannot allow Haitian citizens to surge across our borders….

The tragedy in Haiti is great, but it’s no excuse for letting these threats increase.

What Will Be the Result of Biden’s Surge of Illegal Immigration?

The topic of discussion for this Constitution Monday is how the surge of illegal aliens into the United States could change American Leftists. As a presidential candidate in 2019, Joe Biden invited the migrants massing at America’s southern border to “surge” into the United States. “We immediately surge to the border all those seeking asylum.” Did you notice that he said nothing about immigrating legally?

Most Americans understand that our nation needs legal immigrants to keep America growing and becoming even better. In fact, legal immigration could be America’s greatest strength. However, there are “a few key prerequisites” about immigration, according to Victor Davis Hanson. 

Immigration must be legal and measured.

Why? Because only the host nation can adjudicate how many immigrants it can successfully accept and assimilate. It has no desire to encourage Balkanized tribalism so common in nations abroad torn apart by ethnic conflict.

America must have some knowledge of the background of immigrants, especially whether they have criminal records, belong to gangs, are importing drugs, carry infectious diseases, or can be self-supporting.

By contrast, if the first thing immigrants do is illegally cross the American border, and the second is to reside illegally in America, and the third is to obtain fraudulent identification to mask that illegality, then they will establish long patterns of illegal behavior and disrespect for their hosts.

In addition, immigration should be diverse so that large ethnic groups do not form permanent tribal sects in the fashion of the Balkans, the Middle East, or Latin America.

Ideally, the host should prefer immigrants who have some knowledge of the language and customs of the United States. And they should have some ability to be self-supporting, so as not to burden American taxpayers or overtax and deprive social services from poorer U.S. citizens.

As for the host?

America must be confident enough in and knowledgeable enough about its values, customs, and traditions to demand immigrants integrate rapidly into the body politic of the United States.

Both the host and immigrants must agree on the basic facts of immigration.

Immigrants, not the host, have chosen to leave their native land to risk a new life and identity in America.

Therefore, the relationship is, by nature, asymmetrical. The host has a perfect right, indeed a responsibility, to impose its own values upon newcomers – not vice versa.

Otherwise, if immigrants do not absorb their newly adopted culture, why would they have left and, in some sense, rejected their homeland in the first place?

To replicate in the United States the very conditions and environment that they so eagerly fled from back home?

So the host must remind immigrants that they chose a completely different paradigm from their native country. And therefore, they must be helped to embrace an entirely new national identity.

After the above discussion, Hanson then reminded his readers that – over the past four years – “the Biden administration has violated every historical canon critical to ensuring legal immigration enriches the United States.” In fact, the Biden administration “has encouraged 8 to 10 million of the world’s poorest to flood the border and to enter and reside in America without legal sanction. Most have no prior experience with American traditions, and few speak English.”

Hanson then pointed out that Americans do not know the type of person who has entered into the United States illegally. How many of them were criminals in their native countries? What was their record of employment? Are they healthy, or carrying contagious diseases? Are they members of gangs? Are they importing lethal drugs to kill Americans? Are they human traffickers?

Even worse, according to Hanson, is that America is no longer “the melting pot that once made America the world’s only successful multiracial democracy, united by the laws of the Constitution and the unique values that emanate from it. I see this difference as being like the difference between a sauce and a stew.

Rather than melting together to make a sauce known as “the American,” immigrants are now retaining the beliefs, cultures, and practices from their native countries. This makes America more like a stew with each individual ingredient maintaining its own taste and texture while giving flavor to the rest of the stew. Stew instead of sauce destroys “the American” with its unity and unique values that made America successful. Hanson continued his explanation in this way.

The combination of mass illegal immigration, without audit, into a country beset with $35 trillion in national debt, an existing 50 million residents not born in the United States, and without confidence in rapid assimilation certainly explains the disaster of illegal immigration that now manifests daily.

Hanson explained that Biden and his supporters may think that importing so many illegal immigrants will help to turn red states to blue or give more congressional districts to blue states. They may be counting on mail in voting to allow foreign nationals to vote in our elections. However, they may be fooling themselves.

But in truth, Biden is unfortunately undermining support for all immigration, legal or otherwise….

Ironically, Biden is also alienating from the Democrat Party its once loyal black and Latino voters. They, not the party elite, must deal concretely with the consequences of Biden’s callous and cynical, ideologically driven policies.

Perhaps the Left will cease destroying immigration law only when it realizes that for each illegal alien it invites in, it will lose one or more once-loyal Democratic voters.
