Will Biden Be Impeached for the Mess that He Made in Afghanistan?

            Today is a sad day for America. After 20 years of trying to build a nation in Afghanistan, the Taliban is now in control of the people. The fall of Kabul to the Taliban is a repeat of the fall of Saigon to the North Vietnamese -- despite a promise from President Joe Biden that it would not happen. The withdrawal of American troops was a disaster that falls squarely on the shoulders of President Joe Biden.

            Biden now has the distinction of being the worst President of the United States – bypassing even Barack Obama and Jimmy Carter. America has lost the respect of the Taliban, ISIS, other terrorists, enemies, and allies alike. Foreign news anchors are making jokes about Biden’s dementia and incapability to be lead. He has humiliated America and Americans.

            Some Republicans are calling for an investigation into what happens, while others are calling for the resignation or impeachment of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. They have been in office for eight months and have nothing to show for their time besides disasters. Afghanistan is just one of them, but others include the crisis at the southern border, the sagging economy, and new threats of shutdowns and mask mandates caused by the surging Delta variant of COVID-19.

            Biden is right to say that the people of Afghanistan are responsible for fighting for their own country. The Afghan forces that America has equipped and trained for 20 years almost immediately gave up. If Afghan men are not willing to fight for their country, why should American men and women fight for it?

            Biden was wrong in the way that he ordered the withdrawal of Americans from Afghanistan. For one thing, he should have sent all Americans in Afghanistan home BEFORE he closed the military bases. He withdrew the military personnel and then wonders why the Taliban overthrew the government before all the Americans were out.

            The bottom line is that Biden is a disaster. He should have never run for the office of President of the United States. He does not have the leadership skills or the mental capacity for dealing with the stresses of such an office. His choice of a Vice President is another disaster. I believe that both of them should resign in disgrace. If they do not resign, they should be impeached.
