Memorial Day is
an American holiday and is observed on the last Monday in May. Its purpose is to remember and honor those
men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the military of
the United States of America.
This holiday is considered the
unofficial beginning of summer, but it means so much more than outings and
picnics. Many Americans spend the day
visiting cemeteries or memorials, placing flowers on graves, holding family
gatherings, etc.
However you
choose to spend Memorial Day, please stop whatever you are doing at 3:00 p.m.
local time and join in a national moment of remembrance for our fallen
heroes. May we always remember their
great sacrifices in keeping America free!
