President that America Needs

The liberty principle for this Freedom Friday concerns the idea that the people get the President that they need and/or deserve. Americans elected Donald Trump because he promised to fight for the good of America and Americans. However, there were many Republicans who were never-Trumpers. They would not vote for Trump, and they would not support him once he won the election. The circus surrounding the confirmation hearings for Judge Brett Kavanaugh may be convincing some of those never-Trumpers that Americans elected the right guy for the times. They can finally see the darkness of the swamp and the viciousness of the swamp critters.

Rich Lowry, the editor-in-chief of National Review, was one of the many people who opposed the election of President Trump. The treatment of Kavanaugh has opened Lowry’s eyes and caused him to see the situation differently. In a recent editorial Lowry says plainly that the “political assassination of Brett Kavanaugh is bad for the country, but good for a Trumpian attitude toward American politics.” His editorial outlines three theories that became proven facts after seeing the behavior of Democrats and their liberal/progressive supporters over the past days and weeks since Kavanaugh was nominated to the Supreme Court.

First, that good character is no defense [Examples given: John McCain tried hard to be friends with the media and was still called a racist while running against Barack Obama. Mitt Romney was a decent man but was called “a heartless and despicable vulture capitalist” because he ran against Obama. Brett Kavanaugh has a spotless record over many years of public service and still got smeared.]

Second, that the media is an unremitting political and cultural adversary. [They have abandoned all efforts to look “fair and balanced” as they push falsehoods that benefit the Left.]

Third, that politics isn’t just rough-and-tumble; it’s red in tooth and claw.” [Trump said this throughout his campaign and continues to say it. People are finally seeing the truth of his words.]

Numerous people have a better understanding of just how bad the “swamp” is after watching the Senate investigation of charges against Kavanaugh. Trump has been trying to tell people how bad it is, but they would not believe him. The trashing of Kavanaugh has opened the eyes of many of them. Maybe, just maybe, the never-Trumpers will stop fighting against President Trump and start supporting him in cleaning out the swamp!
