Today marks two weeks since Election Day, and no one knows for sure who won the 2020 presidential election. Numerous states are having difficulties in certifying their votes because of “irregularities.” Even though Americans are accustomed to knowing on election night who the next president will be, the 2020 election has proven to be worse than 2000.
In the 2000 presidential election,
Americans did not know the results of the election for 37 days. The results in
that contest went to the Florida Supreme Court twice and to the U.S. Supreme Court
twice before an announcement was made.
So, what do we know? We know that
two counties in Georgia have found votes for Donald Trump that were not previously
counted but not enough to overcome the difference of approximately 13,000
votes. Will other counties also find votes? Will enough counties find votes to
put the entire state in question? Your guess is as good as mine!
We know that Clark County in Nevada –
home to Las Vegas – is having problems. The County commissioners decline to
certify the results of the race for county commissioner. Apparently, this race
will have a new election because there was such a “large scale voter discrepancy.” However, those discrepancies do not seem to have affected the
presidential election.
There are several common questions about the
presidential election. Why did the vote count stop simultaneously in all the
key states at the same time on election night? Where did hundreds of thousands
of votes come from for Biden -- and none for Donald Trump – when the counting
started again? Why is it possible for more than forty states – even big states
like California, New York, Texas, and Florida -- to get a correct vote count on
election night, but states with Democrat governors in key states are struggling
to do so two weeks later?
There are also questions about the
investigation. Sidney Powell, attorney for General Michael Flynn, is working on
the voter fraud case. She claims that she has “staggering” statistical evidence
and testimony that proves Dominion voting machines switched votes from Trump to
Biden. Powerhouse attorney Lin Wood is based in Atlanta, Georgia and has filed a court
case against Georgia election official. He claims that Powell and Rudy Giuliani
have “the smoking guns” that will prove Donald Trump won the election.
The obvious question about the
investigation is, when will we see the evidence? A secondary question is, when
will we see people going to prison for the fraud? The Electoral College is scheduled
to meet on December 14. Will we know the results before that date?
