Many Americans are concerned the values they see exhibited in the United States, and numerous Americans say that they do not recognize America any longer. The Heritage Foundation is promoting American values and has found a way to help any citizen who is “concerned about the direction of the country.” In a prepared statement today, Heritage Foundation President Kay C. James said the following:
America is at this historic intersection
and has a choice between two paths….
What we do today will determine what kind
of future we leave for future generations…. “The Citizen’s Guide to Fight for
America” is an action plan for Americans who want to hand off a better America
to our children and grandchildren.
The “citizen’s guide” can be found at this site. It is “designed
as a tool kit” and includes a pledge to support “law enforcement, promote voter
registration, and write letters to local newspapers.” Rob Bluey, Heritage’s
vice president of communications, made the following statement.
Americans should be personally and
actively invested in how we are governed and how our society operates….
Unfortunately, civic literacy and citizen engagement are at an all-time low in
America…. Heritage refuses to accept an apathetic electorate that surrenders
its future to the elites in Washington and Hollywood. The citizen’s guide is
not only a toolkit, but also a mobilization engine to propel Americans to fight
for what makes our country great.
If you are not sure how to write an
effective letter to the editor or to make guest commentaries, the toolkit has
help for you. If you want to learn about the issues or information on policies,
go to the toolkit. If you want to learn how to communicate more effectively, there
is help in the toolkit.
